@berniebrown9115. Glad you enjoyed it Bernie. That’s the majority of what kind of flying we do. My Rocket is going to be down for a while, I’m pulling the engine now. Hope to get it back in the air soon. Meanwhile, I’ll practice doing some air to air videoing.

@Dreadnaut. That’s great. Burnie, the guy with the grey RV4 has one to. Hopefully I’ll see you around this summer. Me and Joe go over to West Desert occasionally to see the fellow that sells Rans. I was wanting a Rans7, but ended up getting a Husky. As soon as it warms up, some of us will head down just past your place, to little Sahara , to do a video. You’d probably enjoy flying low over that area- if you haven’t already. Congratulations on finishing your build.

You guys are certainly blessed with some incredible places to fly, right on your doorstep. Love the valley with the cascading lakes, my kind of place. Sadly, over here we don’t get the chance to be amongst the weeds like you do, and maybe it will stop raining in the UK 2023 so those of us on grass strips can fly as well. Happy New Year guys and wishing you all safe and happy flying, cheers.
@WheelsInTheSky2 жыл бұрын
@watchfordpilot. Hi Steve. I think I’ve heard people talk about how in Europe, you’re not allowed to fly real low. Is that so? I’m sure the day will come when we’ll be restricted here. I’d love to have a grass strip, but when it rains or snows, that would sure put you out of commission. Hope it stops raining soon. Happy New Year.

@Elk Circle. Thanks Elko Circle. Yeah, sometimes I like to go exploring with the Rocket just to get around faster. Then if I find a cool place, we come back with the high wings so we can land and look around. In fact I think all the places I’ve gone with the Husky, I first went in the Rocket. Works pretty good. I’d be interested to know if you end up getting a backcountry plane again. Keep me posted.

Great video, nice job. Scenery is quite nice too. That’s not the Castle Rock, Utah that I know. You should fly through it sometime, located in the next valley East of Moab. Fly along the Colorado river then up through Castle Valley and then orbit Castle Rock. It’s a famous place for climbers but also was famous back in the 60’s when Chevrolet filmed one of their car commercials by helicoptering in a car and placing it atop the rock. Then a beautiful girl sat in the convertible waiving as the camera aboard the helicopter orbited.

Lost creek reservoir? Is the private land Deseret land and livestock's?

I’ve scoured google map east, northeast, and southeast of 42U and cant’t seem to find “Castle Rock”. You mentioned gas at Evanston, so I figure its got to be somewhere near where I’ve been looking… How many nautical miles from 42U?
@WheelsInTheSky2 жыл бұрын
@tpbh46. That’s what I call it because it’s near an exit on the freeway that’s called Castle Rock. It’s bearing 214 deg from Evanston for 18 miles. “Cooli” intersection is just about right over it. Just remember, it’s private. We always go thru Jon for permission before we terrorize the area. If I owned it, I’d definitely put in an airstrip for all pilots to enjoy. Sorry, I typed in wrong address last night
