Operation Flashpoint wasn't just like Arma, it was what became Arma. Modern Combat was never a franchise meant to compete with COD. It was absolutely inspired by the game, but they were still distinctly different in narrative story, multiplayer, etc. As a Veteran of Every MC game from 3-5 being an early adopter of the 5th game in the series before it went to a free game with loot crates, it was such a fun game, it was the definitive mobile shooter. But once cod turned to jetpacks, so did modern combat, and the series was fully put to rest when COD Mobile was successful.

@0lionheart3 ай бұрын
@@XeCuTioNR H:TR is much, much better than the first game. The original Homefront is a Call of Duty campaign wearing a Red Dawn jacket; you don't feel like a freedom fighter, you feel like a soldier as in every game of that type. You might as well just be a spec ops, Tier 1 guy. Follow the NPC, shoot the targets, watch cutscene. It's lame. H:TR had you dodging patrols dynamically, as you free roam around a district making your own calls on what to attack and how. The districts change as you play too, people go from keeping their heads down to jumping soldiers in the street. Setting up actual player directed ambushes in red zones felt awesome.

@craigsmith60393 ай бұрын
So what happened was after Crytek took it over they retooled it into its own continuity (and also made it be a wannabe far cry, ironically something that the Kaos devs originally wanted to do before Danny Bilson suggested to make it a cod clone) as they felt that the current plot was just too ridiculous to be taken seriously (it was one of the factors that led to its negative word-of-mouth and with it undershooting commercially). Not to mention doing a cod-style shooter was not gonna work in the post-2012 era (Homefront itself was a factor in the death of the cod shooter beyond cod). Ofc the revolution did even worse commercially as at that point people moved on and (not unreasonably) dismissed Homefront as a joke.

That is until you play it. The story begins simple enough, but then devolves into a horror show of sadness, war crimes, and PTSD. Its one player story was something special, if not controversial. Also, the setting of a apocalyptic sandstorm scarred Dubai was unique. Lastly, it is the only game that I have ever played where the game has told me that "everything is my fault", and I wasn't mad at it for saying that. MOH 2010 genuinely was so much fun. Perfect middle between Battlefield and COD.

If the Switch 2 isn’t called the Super Switch I’m rioting. It just makes sense like NES / SNES.

I'm a native Korean and never heard of ironsight. Some of the most popular FPS games here are Sudden Attack, CS, Overwatch, and Valorants. Maybe It's more popular in other parts of Asian countries? Games like Crossfire is devloped by Korean company, but It's only popular in China

sigh, its misleading that homefront is mentioned to be a cod killer. It was never attempted to be a cod killer of any kind what so ever. It was more like battlefield if anything. It was nothing like cod at all. I would know I actually played homefront in its prime and the multiplayer was actually a pretty good attempt at trying to replicate battlefield.

The fact that everyone was believing the xdefiant shutdown rumor although it wasn't true just goes to show you the state of that game

Halo 4 changed so much because they literally said in order to get hired as a dev you had to hate the old halo games

I have extremely fond memories of modern combat. I remember playing these games during the long down times at wrestling matches in middle school.

Oh my word, I was shocked to hear Modern Combat. I LOVED that series when I was in high school. But sadly they screwed up MC5 and after. Along with the NOVA series after NOVA 3.

This is an interesting video but you should do a video on Medal of Honor. It was a great game back in the day.

What about Crysis 2 or 3? I remember playing 2 a lot when I was younger. Also, Homefront multiplayer was fun in my opinion. Just not enough progression.

Lol I convinced my mom to buy me "Battle For The Pacific" cause it was "education for history". So I got to play a crappy corridor shooter for some of my homework, lol

Your timelines are messed up, you said “modern combat 4 released with BO1 and modern combat 3 with MW3’ BO1 was released the year before MW3. HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE
@acasualmusiclistener79193 ай бұрын
I think you got a little confused because he never said bo1 just "black ops" until clarifying that he was talking about bo2.
