Unfortunately, this may be my last rockhounding video for the remainder of the lockdown restrictions in our area. I don’t know when the next time we can get out to the creeks will be but I’ll still try my best to make videos of stuff at home. Like playing with rocks and all that jazz. I hope it’s entertaining, but yeah, gotta do what we gotta do. Have a good week my friends! See you soon!

When you mentioned your daughter, it brought back a memory for me. I grew up searching for crystals, and minerals with my dad. At one point, I lost interest. It wasn’t until my mid thirties, when I started rockhounding again on my own, that I realized how special those moments were in my childhood. It’s really special to have a passion to share with my dad now.

Ah ha ha! Funny...you know what I mean!😁😀😂 Yes it looks so peaceful there. I'll get there one day! I'm fine thanks. Just been a bit heart wrenching up here. As you know I lost my stepdad Oct20 2019...now my poor step brother & sis lost their mum Carla. She was celebrating her birthday on the Ruby Princess with hubby Graham. Sadly they both ended up in hospital with covid19. Carla passed away but Graham is now home which is good..but I feel so bad for my extended family. Lost their mum n dad in 6mths😢. To make it worse they left Carla's body in the same room at the hospital as her hubby for 8hrs! My poor step brother wasn't allowed to spend time with his mum as he was in quarantine at home with a milder case of covid19. Just so sad n scary times! So thankyou Jesse for sharing your adventures..a little escape from what's going on👍 You guys stay safe too & HAPPY EASTER🐰 Look forward to watching your next vid✌ A link for the strange ol hairy man! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5_CZqepmMR6nbM&feature=share kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXnIpIxjgKyJeqc&feature=share

Katherine Doughty oh my god! Kath that is absolutely heartbreaking. I’m legitimately speechless. To see “the numbers” of people who have lost their life and loved ones doesn’t compute to the actual knowledge of being directly effected. I’m speechless and sending my love and thought to you guys and your family. Just heartbreaking Kath.

Thankyou Jesse your heartfelt message is comforting. Would be nice to say things can only get better... every time we do it doesn't. You never get over the loss.. but you get through it. I get really annoyed at people at the shop that disregard my space..Really wanna snake them n say piss off out my space! get away.. follow the rules ignoramis! 😁😀😂 Oye! I don't suppose you saw Marklaina's giveaway winner? 🍀I was doin the riverdance!🍀😁 Hope they don't extend this lockdown...I want to see my kids...especially my daughter Jessica...she is now an official Army recruit. Off to Wagga at the end of the month.☺😢 Sorry about the book 😜 Hope your all having an awesome Easter.🐰🐇Find those eggs the Rock kind I mean lol. Cheers🍹 Tc👍

Year Jess I know those feelings well, my wife made heavy curtains for our room so I could kill all the light & shut down, there is nothing like a good dose of pethidine & maxalon, and 4-6hrs of being unconscious to aid in the relief, nearly as bad is the wiped out feeling once their gone. I look at it this way, yer it's s#itful but there are those much worse off. We know we will recover and get back to normal while there are others less fortunate. Keep well & Keep Rockin.

Amazing video,as always., I'd really like to come to your country some time and rock hound..I feel your pain brother, I live on lake Michigan in the States and not able to get out as much is killing my inner rock addiction..I just know there's Petoskey and agates just lying on the shoreline waiting to be picked up,. just kills me,.I try and sneak out there for a minute or two but not often... your rock selections are magnificent my friend!..stay healthy and I look forward to your next video..cheers

Thank you for taking the tedium out of lockdown. It's all been quite fascinating how many of you fellows mention each other, for instance watching Quest for Details he recommended watching your videos, of course which I have been from the very start of retirement. Rockhounding and tumbling small finds with my new Lortone tumbler has saved my sanity, thanks to my girls gifting me for my birthday some well needed funds to buy one. Keep up the fascinating videos and stay safe and well. I think I'll need an AKA "The Rocky Rowan" LOL

Congrats mate! I have been doing it for 15 years and wont be stopping anytime soon either. You can drop the "rookie" part but we have to find a replacement for it.

Jeff Bunk Haha, man, I am worried about that also, I don’t know if I should or what I would, change it to... can’t be a rookie after that many years. But it’s like a nickname now. I’m open to any suggestions. I was thinking maybe “RnR Rockhounding” rockhounding and relaxation? Haha! but I don’t know.

Please don't give up the "Rookie" nickname! I find it, like you, charming and unassuming, (qualities that are sorely lacking in today's world) and it truly makes my heart warm to take part in your adventures, and to see you enjoying the beauty around you. Don't ever loose your sense of wonder and your positive attitude! I think that even if you stop using the "Rookie" nickname you will still be a rookie at heart, always searching for the next question. I just can't picture you with a know it all attitude!

@@Rookie_Rockounding hey, I am wondering how this c19 crap is affecting you guys down there? Not much changed for me but all the restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, theaters and everything not essential. No hair salons, no gatherings over 15 people, security guards at the grocery store keeping people away from each other. I'm betting it will be 18 months if anything ever goes back to normal.
@Rookie_Rockounding4 жыл бұрын
Oh man yeah it’s pretty much the same for us. All state borders are closed except for workers and freight I think. We aren’t allowed to travel for anything except for food, work, medicine, and exercise and only as a family but are allowed 1 extra person. Basically if you’re caught in your car or out at the beach or park if you don’t have a good reason and are out of your suburb and not practicing social distancing you will be given a $1332 on the spot fine. Pretty crazy stuff. So if I went out by myself they don’t class rockhounding or even hiking as exercise 😔. As for gatherings you are only allowed an extra 2 people at your house and not for parties or bbqs or dinners basically. Very isolating times. I’m lucky I’m still allowed to work but unfortunately that’s dropped down to 2 shifts a week also. But our government is paying us for those shifts for 6 months so that business’ can still function and be around after the restrictions are lifted. But I think you’re right man. They said today that international travel will not be opened up again in any form until after the end of the year. It’s definitely crap. But I guess it’s necessary. It’s just like sitting and watching and waiting really hey. How you guys holding up?
@LawofMoses4 жыл бұрын
@@Rookie_Rockounding hey bro, thanks for the info. We are all good but buried in snow still and unseasonably cold still which certainly helps the people stay in. I think it's a 1000 dollar fine. Hey bud rock hounding is definitely exercise and YOU and many need it for their mental health. We always keep social distance right, otherwise we'd be chasing each others rocks lol. Well take care bud and we will keep in touch. I have been thinking of putting the cars out of my shop and setting up my saws, I have tons of agates and chalcedony I brought with from the mountain. I will post em up if I get to it. Keep o rockin bro and to all the others, stay safe a c19 free and yeah shut the news off it will only get you down, 10 min a day is to much😉 Fear God and keep his commandments and see, it will free you from everything

2 Years already? Man time fly's when you're having fun. It is so good to find some good specimens but even when we don't find it is still good. It seems almost all the other hounds we meet become friends or at least buddies (or mates as you say ) and the friendships seem to last. We have watched you learn and grow and we learned with you. Very nice vid and so glad I found you 2 years ago. Keep you and the family safe and for sure HAVAGUDUN.

Hiya mate! Hey! How ya doin? Loved the the video, the thing is we all do things for different reasons, but rockhounding is a one of a kind experience. I'm pretty sure there's a lot that would agree. I've been rockhounding for a very looong time 😍, and yes I love it! I've met a lot of awesome friends alone the way, your one of them. I get what I call Rockitis, I've gotten hurt at work, and it's pretty bad because I can't go rockhounding like I would like too anymore. So I bring some of my polished gemstones in my bed, and I just look at them, and put them on me and the feeling I get from them is is is , wonderful just wonderfully goood, my wife said, that's where I'm getting grounded. I think that's where I get my Zen from, laying or sitting on them, just being around them. I hope you and your family, and all the rockhounding community have a great blessed day. Cheers mate! Happy Easter!

I had an idea just wanted to throw out an already mentioned it to agate angler and Katy. If there was someway that someone who is text savvy and Quick not to mention smart amongst the family maybe of all the finders could put together an Etsy shop so you could all post your fines that you’re not keeping or from your rock pile because you all have a huge one LOL and this way finders from all over the world could purchase rocks that you find from different parts of the world. I watch these videos and I draw because I can’t find anything like what you guys put back let alone keep. Not here in Massachusetts that’s for sure. It could be a way for all of you to earn some extra money while we all enjoyed some of the rocks that you find. Just an idea and maybe a fantasy💜
