Jammin! Love the horn and the steel. Not familiar with this guy, but I'll look him up.

Thanks Saremile for this interesting request. Charley wrote and recorded this song about the Trinity River in Dallas. The song is more of a spiritual song. The flow of the "dirty" river reminds us to stay honest while others around us are lying. Charley is from San Benito, TX He got his start playing on the streets of the French Quarter of New Orleans and busking on the streets of New York. Yes, Charley is related to Davey Crockett. Thanks Don for the reaction

I live in Dallas Fort Worth. The Trinity River is like the East River, you don’t go swimming in it.

@2355shawnpilgrim2355 I’m impressed with your knowledge of the East River! I used to take my boat around Manhattan and the East River is strong and nasty!

He's talking about Fort Worth which lies at the top of the river....I live towards the southern side. But I take it as he's talking about the Ol' West history of Fort Worth and the baptism and religious stuff you were talking about mixed in there. Charley is his own thing but there are some parts of Western/Texas swing that incorporate jazz.
