Three good suggestions. And I know I'm probably in the minority as a lot of people don't care for it, but I LOVE shredded iceberg lettuce on a classic burger. It gives it a nice texture and helps cut the saltiness if the cook was a little heavy-handed salting the patty. Win-Dow is good, but the seating at their Silver Lake location is limited to some plastic stools next to the building and makes dining a little less than convenient. For The Win is good but a little pricey. I was at their grand opening in Alhambra a few weeks ago and got a free cheeseburger. Steve -- as you venture outside of L.A., try Crooked Gaff Kitchen in Uptown Whittier. I was there earlier this week and had their Black & Bleu Burger, which has black fig jam, bleu cheese, grilled onions and arugula. But what makes it unique is that the patty is a blend of Waygu chuck, brisket and short rib. That burger melts in your mouth! Another good video, Steve. Thanks.

Going out for a Smash Burger is fine but if you’ve ever watched a George Motz video, you have the power to make a Smash Burger just as good or even better in your own home kitchen.

What is stupid comment! The technique of making a Smashburger anybody can do! The difference is the meat that you use! You can’t just go to the grocery store buy ground beef and make a Smashburger. the best places ground their own meats, using different cuts of beef. Not many people are going to do that at home.

George Motz's "Hamburger America" joint in New York City is incredible! I was there last week (I'm from San Diego) and was pleasantly surprised, one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in my life.
