This scene is so touching. He's limping up the steps in obvious pain. The music is soft and perfect for the somber mood. It's such a great contrast to the training montage, when he's taking the steps three at a time. The music swells, and when he raises his arms, I want to cheer, and cry. What a great build up to the finale! I ❤ Rocky.

It's why even when he fell into doing more generic action flicks (which were still fun) and being typecast later on, I've always had a ton of respect for him. He came from nothing, stuck to his guns and created something of serious artistic value here

Everything in this sequence is perfection. The music, the sound, the acting, the shots. Note there is no dialogue. There is absolutely no other way this could have been filmed. It makes the whole movie.

I Remember Being 8 years old watching Rocky with my dad and this scene always confused me because I knew from pop culture that Rocky was supposed to be a fighting warrior with superhero like abilities, and to see him BAREley get up those stairs, out of breath, panting, crying and just as human as the rest of us always stuck with me, To see where this warrior started off and ended up really inspired me to work hard and become a better version of myself. No Movie Franchise will ever Beat Rocky 💥 🥊

I always like the scene, but now that I'm living alone, the moment Rocky turns on the radio just to have something in the background to make him company, makes the scene so relatable. The loniless walking down the stairs, it's though. Don't give up on yourself.

this scene where this is playing is telling you that everything in this mans life evades him, rejects him, as he runs towards life, towards love, towards human connection, towards being a decent person and is constantly denied, even the news paper truck jets off as he's approaching it, so even first thing in the morning he's already being denied, try living like that, and see how it makes you feel inside, it can destroy you or propel you, in this case it propelled him and good for Rocky, he needed a victory in life, some appreciation, and even his bosses sidekick constantly bombs on him and dogs him out, Micky kicks him out of his locker, A LOCKER, a little piece of metal that holds dirty clothes is rejecting this man, are you starting to see the picture? the grunts as he's running, the sad music, it's a masterpiece, it's telling you it's not about boxing, it's about life and a man, a lonely man who finds love and that nourishes his soul, life isn't complicated people, we tend to let it get out of hand, it makes me sad because my eldest sister [deceased since 2008] was just born in [1975] before Rocky came out and my parents met and fell in love in the very parts of where the movie was filmed, and struggled, and moved to south jersey, and my father [deceased since 2002] always tried connecting to me tried telling me his history and love for Philly and Rocky and i was always too hyper as a kid or too much of an asshole to listen to him and i'm seriously regretting it i miss him everyday, Rocky is not about boxing trust me, as he's running up those steps in the early morning and you see the cars in the background moving on, it makes me tear up because that was probably my father going to work, providing for his family that never appreciated him, that's what i'm talking about, a lonely man, who is the greatest guy on earth yet is rejected at every instance in his life

Where can I get one of those radios that Rocky Balboa turned on after waking up?... I tried looking for one almost exactly like that one on eBay & I couldn't find one.; Seeing as this movie came out in 1976 & this was the type of radio they had back in the 1960's/1970's, it's hard to point out exactly when it was made/etc. of that nature.
