One thing I don’t like about rode is they don’t complete the product. Like they just come to a point where you have to pick the adapter. Just give a multifunctional slot to interchange it. And give it a jack for cameras !!!
@saul000712 күн бұрын
Wireless Go II and Pro can do all that.

It seems smaller wireless mic systems are getting very popular. And this looks great for someone who what’s a simple and compact mic system, especially vloggers. Great review video, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the review, I have some friends that asked me about the Dji mic but this seems even better for people who don’t want to play with settings or gain. Also $150 is great!

Hi Shaun, is this 'only' for phones, or could I use it with my GoPro 10 as well? I used to have the old, bulkier version of the Ride Wireless Mics and hated it, so sold it but these look amazing, so compact and soooooo easy to use, which is a massive bonus for an old guy like me. Cheers Alan

I only have the lightning version. I don’t have the USB-C to test. But I believe primarily just phone.

DJI Mini Mic is smaller and think will be a better choice for most cases. But all depend which can record in 32 bit float.

Hey Shawn For someone who has absolutely no experience using wireless microphones, what would you personally recommend to a newbie for a first time buy - this rode micro or the dji mic 2 ? It would be used on my Samsung S24 Ultra only
@AirPhotography6 күн бұрын
That is a tough question to answer. They’re both excellent microphones. The rode is a little smaller and might be a little more convenient, but both would be a great choice.

Perfect for me! Thanks for this excellent review. I'm just a bit worried about those little clips to hold it to my clothing. The DJI clips (for Osmo ) are similar and fine if indoors, maybe waiting for a lst receiver if out on a hill. DJI dead cat falls off easily but yours looks more secure. I'll look into this one. Thanks again. I like your presenting style.

It can only connect to a smart phone. The USB-C version I’m not sure I don’t have it to test.
@marieta.s13 күн бұрын
One thing where dji wins is that they include both connections for lightning and usb c phones. In this way when I upgrade my lightning iphone I won’t have to buy another microphone just because it will have a different plug. Rode and other companies simply do not get that.
@AirPhotography6 күн бұрын
I think a lot of companies are doing away with lightning connectors as they’re a thing of the past. I know there’s still a lot of of phones with them. But I could see going forward companies not including them anymore.
@marieta.s6 күн бұрын
Yes at this point I totally get that. However since as you said there are a lot of older iphones out there, including mine, it is safe to say that it is still a transitioning period. One of the reasons I bought a cheap boya microphone was that maybe next year or later I will upgrade to a newer iphone and the lightning connection will render it useless. However I am not willing to spend a lot of money on something more expensive and them have to buy it again so that I can have the right connectivity.

Indeed, the receiver must be used. They are not Bluetooth capable. But the receiver is small fit snug against the phone so it’s not in the way. And it’s gonna give you good range and no interference like Bluetooth can experience.
