Also with the calf roping it is instant disqualification if the calf is whiplash or not pulled up safely, so the cowboys spend a lot of time training correct technique to ensure the safety and the well being of the animals. Also, after reading more comments, there are several contractors that will buck their horse in the bareback or saddle bronc riding and then pull them out of the pen and ride them to pick up on.
@ColbyDale Жыл бұрын
😂😂😂 that’s a lie. Bucking horses are bred to buck. That’s their job. The flank straps are extremely soft and do not actually get all that tight around the horses flanks. 90% of those horses don’t even need a flank strap in order to buck, because that’s what they are bred to do. The pickup horses are bred to rope and ride off of. They are trained to butt up next to the bucking horse in order to get the rider off safely. If you put a flank strap around a pick up horse, it would never even buck. At least not hard enough to toss someone off. These horses are athletes, plain and simple.

Bailey Cornilles, you claim: "99% of the time the cows are just fine.. what you don't see is how well those calfs are treated when they are not in the rodeo." One could make the very same argument about dogs in dogfights, or bulls in bullfighting, or roosters in cockfighting. Does that make the cruelty somehow less, because they are only abused part of the time, not all the time. That's utterly ridiculous. Let's look at this another way. How about a woman whose husband gets drunk and beats her once a month. Is that OK? I mean, 99% of the time she is just fine. Does that work for you? We will all be awaiting your response.

No good rope horse runs backward and pulls the calf as hard and quick as possible, The calf falling to it's knees means the cowboy has to bring the calf back to a stand before putting them on their side, if the calf is jerked over then the time for the run goes up and they lose, so "good" roping horse are trained better

I've roped, l seen thousands of runs and never once, have l seen a calf get killed. In dogg'n, throwing a steer, lve gotten up and couldn't pin point where it hurts. It just gone too quick or it happened too fast, that its difficult to tell where it hurts and that's from the adrenaline we all know well. A few steps back to the box, it fades and then we watch the rest make their runs. After the whole show, we go home to practice up again. 😀😁😇☝🏼👍🏼

That’s not right I’ve roped calves and your rope won’t stand stiff that’s even to stiff for a practice rope. I use a cactus rope and I can run it across my hands and not even get a rope burn your probably using a rope that cost 💲10 bucks and won’t be anywhere close to the ropes we use

i rodeo, and live on a ranch. i noticed that the rope you have is extremely stiff. this is a heeling rope for team roping. meant just to stand up and rope the hind legs. that is not meant for the head. also we do not do "jerk downs" on purpose. we are not all soulless as you portray, tie-down roping is actually used on farms. i have roped calves to vaccinate them so that they stay healthy.

They are raising awareness. More and more people are seeing and recognizing the abuse rodeo forces animals to endure. Empty stands during performances of animal torment, sponsors pulling out their money, and rodeos cancelling because of poor ticket sales are indicative of rodeo's eventual demise

My dad has one of those ropes for emergencies, like if a horse got loose from the pen, and I've felt it. It's stiff as a brick and feels like a rope made of splinters. It hurts very much, and I really hate the thing.... Thank God he's only had to use it once years ago. The only thing it's good for is to be a dust collector...

The whipping of the rope is one part of the issue, that’s a simple surface level injury but going from 30 mph into a dead stop is the real issue. That’s how people die in car accidents.
@elipowell17803 жыл бұрын
One thing I noticed is that he didn’t tell us to run on all fours to where the rope is around the base of our neck and collarbone, or think the comparison of how dense cattle’s bones are or how thick the skin. Also, after watching this video I believe that we should also stop animals from eating each other. Because any harm against animals is wrong and them dying is much worse than losing a little bit of hair due to a rope, that is thrown from a COWBOY.

Sir, Rodeo is a sport. No one in their right mind wants to hurt the calves they are roping.On a Ranch the roping is not as rough as in a Rodeo. As I said cowboys have been roping cattle for over 100 yrs. I don't think this is done to hurt the animals. But, if someone hurts an animal to be cruel then they will get in the end what they just deserve.
