This Story has messed me up for a bit just the thought that all life has been destroyed by the cybertronians the earth is gone and the cybertronians eat essentially eat people and it's such a tragic thing that Rodimus has given up on his species and wants them all dead and I feel he's justified but part of me wanted Rodimus to possibly redeem and lead them into a better future rather than yknow they all die but I'm glad they told they story they wanted and this subverted expectations in a good way while I wished for a more uplifting ending I'm still glad this happened because it respects the source materials and the characters unlike other examples of subverting expectations by commiting character assasination not going to point any fingers but if yknow yknow. But Last bot standing makes sense why certain characters changed but dang it's really sad that not only humans are gone but the only way to save shibs people was for rodimus to exterminate his own kind and himself and it has given me a new respect for the character

I think that it was fear that guided the Decepticons they where all alone without fuel or anything they didn’t care about fighting the Autobots anymore what’s the point? Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, and the other power hungry Decepticons are all dead they were scared for once in their long lives they were going to die not in battle but without energon or any fuel. They even forgot what they were originally fighting for.

It took me some time to get the first issue but once I got it and was able to read all four of them together it was a wonderful read. Still Jaws never been one of my favorite characters but I think they did it right. Not crazy about all of the artwork but the story more than makes up for it

There's a comic(Marvel)/anime myth that Cybertron was supposed to had been created by Energon with sentience(Primus' essence) and solar energy. Looks like Rodimus&other transformers that landed on the planet might had imprinted their sparks on it. More likely it's Rodimus that had imprinted his spark the most since he got a powerboost from the raw energon. With his imprint on it like a stone being dropped in water&creating ripples on the water's surface. That ripple will eventually reach a point that the energon will become fully alive&maybe longer to gain sentience. The other cybertronians that died also left their imprint on it too. So millions of years after Rodimus had left, the planet might become a new Cybertron as the energon gains sentience&cyberforms its surface. So if that sentience becomes mobile, it might become like Unicron instead of Cybertron being locked on its form. So like Unicron, that new world will go around consuming other worlds or stars to power itself.

I’m a little conflicted. I get this is a comic on the end of the Transformers species, but it doesn’t seem fair to blame the Autobots and Decepticons equally. Not to mention the possibility there was a ton of neutrals who wanted nothing to do with the war. We all know if the Decepticons had won, they be ruling over the galaxy oppressing organic species and draining planets of energy. Sure, the realities of war led to the Autobots having to resort to tactics of draining worlds and likely sacrificing millions for the sake of others and themselves. With war, it takes at least two to tango. Still, if the Decepticons won, a reality just as bad could have occurred. I mean, look at what happens in the All Hail Megatron series. The war was horrific sure, but I just feel Rodimus is being a little unfair towards the Autobots and the countless Transformers who probably didn’t even join the fight. And whose to say Donnokt won’t make the same mistakes? The Autobots were led by Optimus Prime and they still went down a dark path. And the story was focused on one town. Other towns may disagree with what to do with the Energon. Sure, a war between organics couldn’t be as destructive as a war between Transformers. All the same, Rodimus’s efforts may get wasted if Donnokt has its own Decepticons pop up. Now do I think Rodimus shouldn’t have given up on his race? I don’t know. The scale of the Great War alone would probably disillusion most soldiers in it. Whole planets destroyed, species wiped out, and yet the fighting goes on for millions of years. Still, I just wonder what would happen if they tried to find the rest of their race. Even if it really was impossible to find any safe way to extract the Energon, it just doesn’t seem fair to condemn one’s whole race. Maybe if Rodimus and his team found Steeljaw’s crew far earlier, they could have stopped them from consuming biofuel. Granted, some Transformers would have to be killed, but I could imagine maybe a few of these guys like Moon and Sharpclaw switching sides. As we see in the Regeneration One comics, the IDW Sequel to the Marvel comic series, the last Autobots and Decepticons went around acting as peacekeepers while they died out. But in this timeline, I just feel a dark future is coming. Even if the people of Donnokt don’t turn on each other for the Energon, how long until alien invaders arrive? Organics were nearly wiped out by the Transformers War, but likely were already fighting each other before that. How long until Donnokt had to further exploit their Energon to create weapons to defend themselves with? They have a huge stockpile, and could go on to become a major player in interstellar politics. Rodimus may have saved the planet Donnokt, but we have no idea the consequences of his actions.

Well if I'm remembering correctly the Autobots were really only morally Superior after Optimus took charge cuz in most continuity the Decepticon started as people against the regime of Cybertron but eventually fell themselves and the Autobots were the remnants of the regime but eventually after Optimist took charge the Autobots became the good guys but only really after he took charge and they probably slipped back in the bad guys when he and Rodimus both fell out of charge so in reality out of billions of billions and billions of years only a couple million were Optimus Prime or Rodimus Prime were in charge had a good guy

@@plantainsame2049 The oppressed Decepticon origin story is really more of a recent thing, started by the Aligned Continuity. Before that, they usually seemed to be equals or they came out of nowhere, determined to create an empire. Closest thing to the current depiction of the Decepticons is actually the Marvel Comics, where the city-states who would become the Decepticons fought a war against each other while Iacon sat back, not wanting to be involved. Rallying the survivors of the war, Megatron directed blame onto Iacon for not stepping in. You have to admit for a bunch of freedom fighters, they are quite unique. They want to return to the one era of equality in Cybertron’s history. Problem is, that was an age of conquest and colonization. Of course, pre-war Autobots aren’t much better since with the end of this age of conquest, they established functionism over Cybertron. I wonder if Decepticons think organics made the Senate a puppet government to ensure they never be attacked again?

I agree with the graphic spoiling that Rodimus is the last bot. However, IDW’s own alt covers for the first issue reveals it's Rodimus. The first issue dropped May 11th of this year, if you were really that invested you would’ve read it the day it released. I also, suggest if you really don’t want your comics to be spoiled avoid the internet, because everyone does this. No one waits for the trade to come out. I disagree with your statement that the title is a spoiler because you have no idea what that means.

This is a lame storyline, rodimus really makes husky arguments, optimus' idea of peace is much more wise and sophisticated, and basically the attraction of the entire franchise, the only thing seprating optimus from megatron, is that even though he's a war lord, but he values peace, and tolerance. Whereas rodimus is self hating and selfish enough to attack any cybertronian, (ally or foe) for his selfish ideals, he takes away people's right to life and redemption. Just because he is rodimus.
