Күн бұрын

Rodney Alcala had an infamous appearance on a dating game in 1978. He won the date, but thankfully the women refused to go out with him. She trusted her instinct, thinking he was a creep. And she was right, as Rodney Alcala has a long list of crimes and victims.

@@kelcastle7645 There was only one cop who showed up at first and he busted down the door. He saw the girl and thought she was dead and started chasing him towards the back of the apartment when he heard the girl cough. So it was either keep chasing the guy or try to save her life.
@kebas239

@@kelcastle7645 Because if he chased him, the girl could have died. You might argue that by letting him flee that he might try to murder more people (which he did), but what was the cop supposed to do? He had to make a decision right away and he chose to try and save the child.

@@lonelypigeon7562 I've modeled before (not in sexually explicit ways) but you are spot on with that one unfortunately. I've heard horror stories from other women, been through my own horror story with a photographer who was a serial rapist (and attempted to blackmail models to avoid them going to the police). Happens with young, older, naive and sometimes even seasoned, published models wanting to help build portfolios of "new photographers". I study criminology and honestly you’ve hit the nail on the head, personally I’m of the belief that there is no such thing as a “super intelligent” serial killer, there are just lucky killers, and sadly, inept police work in some cases. Combine that with the fact that the myth of the intelligent, high functioning killer is a very good excuse for lax policing and you have something that sadly won’t die out any time soon :( some very harrowing cases come from this, it’s very sad

I don't know why he chose to play it in court, but Alice's Restaurant is a comedic classic and a Thanksgiving tradition for me. The full title is Alice's Restaurant Massacree, and it's basically an anti Vietnam War song by Arlo Guthrie with a lot of references to Thanksgiving, law enforcement, and the draft/induction and physical required for military service. Really nothing that would relate to a case involving the rapes and murders of 5 girls and women, and certainly nothing that would convince a jury that someone was innocent of such crimes. Which I'm sure he wasn't.

It never ceases to amaze me how easily sexual predators/serial killers gain access to their victims who willingly happily participate in the initial phases of their own destruction simply by appealing to their vanity. For some reason women cannot resist it. Telling a woman she could be a model and you want to photograph her is like telling a small child you have candy. It always amuses me that these sociopaths want to represent themselves. This just proves they are crazy - they GENUINELY believe they can outsmart anyone. Even the courts.

They don't believe they can outsmart the courts in most cases. They just want the attention. It's to make people think they think they can outsmart the courts. To force people to look at and listen to them.

I know it was 1978, but you'd think a TV dating show would exercise SOME basic background screening. Like, a guy who'd spent several years in prison for kidnapping a child.....

like googled him or accessed sealed police records? How were legal or illegal background checks done in 1978.

Is it me, or does the picture taken when he was older look like he could be Charles Manson’s brother(or twin)?

Rodney was taught about photography by Roman Polanski. Charles Manson and the Family killed Romans wife/ the Manson murders happened. Manson said that, “they were not innocent, they were into kiddie prn.” Rodney photographed and kidnapped young girls. Roman is a convicted rapist now. There are no coincidences, they worked together.
