Only a true monster would be willing to go to their grave without giving other families closure knowing they have killed their loved ones. Ivan Milat is truly one of the worst people who ever walked this Earth. If only the police had listened to Paul who knows how different this case could of been. Also - I always thought the tip given to police by Alex Milat was either to throw police off or it was actually given by Ivan using his brothers name. Alex could of possibly known about some of Ivan’s crimes and gave this tip knowing they would look into his family and it would lead to Ivan, he could of not wanted to directly implicate his brother out of fear or repercussion for himself from Ivan.

I think that was a very thoughtful sentiment from Eta. Mike may well be intrigued by 'this shit', Marlon, but I feel very few could deliver such bloodcurdling and often traumatic accounts with such an effective balance of humour and sensitivity. On top of which, the style, research, and editing is worth every penny. There ain't many of us out there who could so successfully give it a goo.

Mike, you are one of the best youtubers ever, truly. The effort and consistency that goes into your videos is amazing. Only true crime youtuber to strike a balance between light humour and educational content. We love you and appreciate all your hard work :)

@@mollyk5557 Actually black humour can be a very effective way for humans to deal with and process disturbing events. That's been widely accepted for many years in the fields of psychology and psychiatry. It's acknowledged as a very effective coping mechanism. But don't let that stop you from trying to feel morally superior to strangers as you casually accuse them of being callous!
@Venvaneless2 жыл бұрын
@@FlameFlickers the thing with black humour is, there’s always place and time. You wouldn’t tell such jokes at a funeral or around strangers who maybe don’t like these (which is okay too). But if you’re on the Internet or/and look specifically for true crime & keep coming back to a KZbinr although you don’t like that kind of humour it’s like “that’s on you”. I don’t mean anyone here specifically, just in general, ‘cause I hear often two extreme opposite opinions about either people “being disrespectful” for liking true crime content and the black humour that sometimes goes with it (I mean if you don’t like it, no one forces you to watch. Close the window and be done with it.) or others, who just offend someone and call it “humour” for the sake of it.
@monicamestas75662 жыл бұрын
Mike, you continue to master your storytelling skills, injecting a little levity to these gruesome stories (a very tricky proposition), and you give a complete recounting. I don't know how you get all of your excellent videos on these subjects, like police interviews. Great job. Keep it up.

I was in jail for a minor offence a long time ago. Milat was in the same jail as he was being transferred however he was kept in a cell with 4 barred walls and a barred roof in full view of the screws. He would read all day by hanging a book over one of the bars on the roof of his cell and hold himself up in the air like a pull up position for hours. The screws were scared of him and we were too. I looked at him once and caught his eye and he just stared straight through me with eyes of pure evil. Scariest man I have ever seen
@DominicNJ732 жыл бұрын

Mike (That Chapter) and John (MrBallen) are both such excellent storytellers and I alternate between the two channels constantly. I don’t think it can be said that one is better than the other because their content is very different and their personalities are so very different. What they do have in common is their warmth and wit and ability to tell a story in such an enthralling way that you are drawn into each one time after time after time. As long as these two tell stories, I will be here subscribing to their channels.

This story was on TV so much when I was a kid growing up in Australia that for a while I actually thought "backpacker" was another word for a scary killer because I kept hearing the phrase "backpacker murderer" and didn't quite understand what it meant.
