Glad I could help...

Well, I did it. And I also had a hard time getting in there due to the size of my forearms, but my car has power again, so it's a win!

Great Video! Im looking to tackle this on my 2000 Altima.. And I was going to change the oil and remove the oil filter.. Would that make it easier to get a rachet in there? Thanks

I don't think removing the filter is a big help as the sensor is to the left of the filter if laying under the car looking at it. However, it really depends on how big your arms and hands are. You could try removing the filter to see if you can get a better reach, if so let me know. I just remember having to go in between holes in the frame more to the center of the engine.

@@RodsshopOrg Thanks for replying! My arms are pretty big.. I'm in CA and I have to replace it or it won't pass a smog test so I can renew my registration. I'll let you know..

I have a 2000 Altima with a crank/no start condition and a P0325 knock sensor code. Have spark. Fuel pump works if I jump the relay, but car still won't start. Have not yet proven whether injectors are firing. Car runs with starting fluid. Fuses all look good. My question for you is: Can the knock sensor prevent the car from starting?
@RodsshopOrg3 ай бұрын
Not really, but I can tell you the most common thing wrong with these Altima's. The distributor goes out in them. The distributor is also the cam sensor and the timing for the injectors. If it tries to hit with starting fluid, that is a great indication that the injectors are not firing. If it was me, I would change out the knock sensor as it is cheaper to try. But in the end, I am sure you will be replacing the distributor. one tip, take the cap off the distributor and look inside the distributor very carefully. If you see oil in it, that is due to the seal going bad and once oil gets in them, they go out.

@@RodsshopOrg I did look under the distributor cap & it's very clean. Since it fired with starting fluid, I figured it couldn't be the cam or crank sensors and of course that I had spark and compression. The fuel pump wasn't getting power. I cleared the P0325 and P1441 codes, cleared the MIL light and all of a sudden it started right up. The knock sensor code came right back, so I do need to replace that, but the MIL light is off now for several run cycles. Maybe it's a wiring issue, but I'm going to run it as-is and see if the problem comes back.

@@jeffd3844 It is rare for a knock sensor to stop it from running but it could have shot a severe enough message to the computer and it shut the pump off to protect the engine. I have seen stranger things. I do know that if the engine looses oil pressure, it can shut off the fuel pump to protect it.

Will this work for a 03 Altima

If your car is a 2.5L 4 cyl, then it will be very similar. However if you have the 3.5L V6, it will be completely different. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIDPqYKLnMaMg8U
