Back in the 80's, a friend and I rode our bikes across San Francisco, crossed the GGB, and down into Sausalito. A couple more miles and we were at Sausalito Cyclery. We went in and Sammy was working the counter folding clothes. He was part owner and an avid mtn. biker. We said hi and he wanted to know everything about us; where we're from, where we ride, telling us his secret places to ride. He was the nicest, most unpretentious guy.

He interrupts a bit too much. He is oozing personality, though. And obviously has the respect of the artists he interviews. He wants to tell his stories, and when interviewing, you have to be good at sitting there and just listening. But, as just a conversationalist, he's great. He has so much knowledge and experience, you'd want him to tell a story. But, as an interviewer? I don't think he can just sit there and listen. You can tell he wants to always say something, before a person finishes.
