Well, because now we are facing a clear decline of the West - and a rising new world order with Russia and China..., so now it is more important than ever to control the narrative! The claim “ not to move one inch to the East “ was a statement made by James baker with respect to nato moving equipment into former East Germany . NATO honored that claim. This promise was made in the agreement with Russia regarding the reunification of Germany . There were no agreements made regarding other countries tries because in the first place no former cccp country , including Russia brought it up during negotiations . Not my words , words of Gorbatsjov and others . And if discussed and agreed , why would t there be a treaty ? Waters doesn’t have the intellectually capability to do proper research ( I mean research at academically level , not research as in talking to Siri ). His stance on Ukraine is therefore stupid . He also thinks that current Palestinians are the single and rightful claimants of what historically was called Palestine . Another historical travesty .

Wow! The best Roger Waters interview for many years, perfect questioning. I have many times tried to explain my take on DAOTM and so many love it, but the beautiful whilst haunting message goes over them. How at 29 he managed to capture the entire journey so perfectly escapes me, incredible piece of work. So looking forward to hearing the redux. On his views, he of course only has one agenda, and it’s motivated by caring about ending horrendous oppression, which most people have no concept of the extreme suffering being applied daily. Caring is almost now a hate crime and I salute Roger for being so brave, along with everyone else speaking out, from what they know as the truth.

Definitely agree with Rogers criticism of Keir Starmer and Starmers embarrassing response to the Board of Deputies of British Jews, (20:45) which was displayed during the interview. I think the major question that comes up is "Why now?" (11:54). Personally I believe it has something to do with Rogers interview on CNN with Michael Smerconish, which was a disaster. Roger should never have expressed his opinion about the Ukrainian war, and especially his statement "of course Taiwan is part of China" is completely insensitive to the people of Taiwan. Why did the students in Hong Kong protest, and what happened to the protests? The were crushed by a totalitarian state. Is Tibet also a part of China? I think R.W. should have wisely limited his critique to criticism of the state of Israel, which he does in this interview. And I really admire R.W. and his career so much. It has been so incredibly inspiring, and helpful in shaping the worldview of mine and numerous people I know, but the worst moment of R.W.'s career in my opinion was his statements during the recent interview with Michael Smerconish. Of course R.W. is not Anti-Semite. He endorsed Bernie Sanders (who is Jewish) twice, to become the first Jewish POTUS.

This is one of the best interviews I've seen of him and he comes across much like a Statesman. The issue with his politics is how he presents publicly, namely concerts which is sometimes not flattering to him. A good example is the recent costume. When I saw him a few years back in Long Island, the politics were so over the top it was weird, and most certainly a person could not have deciphered this message at the concert. If he found a modified approach, he would have a much larger impact, particularly in the US.
