Chris, TJV directors created the rift at last year Vuelta. Roglič stayed with Sepp, while Jonas was allowed to do that "For Nathan" bullshit move. Would you, in Rogla's shoes, not be pissed off and attack on the next stage?

Totally agree here TJV directors betrayed Roglič and he did not stab Sep in the back. It was more so Jonas who chased down Roglič in his stage win that brought Jonas near Sepp. Roglič was further back on time and not a risk to take the red jersey. Love the analysis Chris but your continuation of labeling Roglič as a back stabber is incorrect and unjustified.

Sorry ridiculously silly video. Regardless of what Slovenia DS or Tadej or Primoz have in mind why would they share their intentions in a press conference? Personally think pre-race cycling interviews may be the dumbest of any sport when asking riders to reveal their tactics in advance. It's not rocket science: unless Tadej and Primoz end up actively chasing each other down -- perhaps like Boyer and Lemond for US years ago (depends whose story you believe) -- having both going for the win, or at least their competitors thinking that's a possibility, is a plus for Slovenia.

😞Indeed, it is often forgotten how dangerous this sport has become. I'm from BE. In some race the commentators where saying: "The peleton is walking" ... translated: 50 km/h (roughly 32 m/h). It's getting insane. Imagine yourself in a bunch slightly touching the backwheel of someone in front of you, going down and taking just about the rest behind you out. Going down a descent at 90 to a 100 km/h (56 m/h) and misjudging a bend ... I think, this and last year has proven that measures need to be taken ... unfortunatly not because of some mere accidents but people losing their lives. RIP Muriel Furrer, an 18-year old who was chasing her dreams 😭

One thing Chris Horner didn't notice is that Roglic is the greater beneficiary with pogacar on his team , if pogacar attacks early and the other Teams start to chase him hard ,then there is a huge chance for Roglic to win. if Roglic is not at 100% he certainly will ride for Pogacar - he has done that for Vingegaard and others before; and then we can expect him give all he has. But if he is at 100% I'm sure he will not sacrifice his own chance, after all it may be his last change to get the jersey! Then I expect him to stay patient (what he has learnt over the years...), and if Pogacar goes he will not be the one to chase him - he rather will follow all the riders from Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, and if they chase down Pogacar he then has a fair chance to beat them in the final, In any case, I expect an exciting race!

Completely delusional rambling...Primož never stabbed Sepp in the back, it was actually Jonas who did that. And why exactly would Primož, Pogi or Slovenian DS reveal their tactics to the press before the race? Primož always gives the same pr non-answer no matter what question they ask him. He's not going to please someone who rants on youtube, to risk the team's tactical options. He will always keep you and other teams guessing. You're overthinking this Slovenia dynamic Chris. Primož is still recovering from riding the Vuelta and knows Pogi has been specifically preparing for this race. The roles have been set, he will help Pogi, but will also gladly take advantage if other teams let him go. There's also another factor in this - the next 3 WC races are all going to be very hilly with big amounts of vertical meters, so plenty of chances for either Pogi or Primož in the next couple of years.

So, if you are in Primoz' skin, and you came in Vuelta in very fine form to win it all and now you have only to ride behind, what would you do? Honestly, if Primoz has already decided back then, "I have enough of this BS games, I'm leaving JV", he should be praised, bcs he has finished his contract in stile and following JV order finally to support Sepp.

Roglič is as wily as a fox and says as much. He always says nothing of note in interviews preferring to play his cards close to his chest. Of course, someone of his stature would not be starting the Worlds without going for the win and, unfortunately, that might mean outfoxing his countryman. It won't be easy as Pogačar is the better rider.

If there was uphill finish Primož would have chances to win. Would he attack from 40 km to go? Without cycle-talkie - is recipe for mess and surprises. I think there is too much hype and confidence around Slo-team, there are other stronger teams...and stronger team can beat even Pogi. Finally KernPharma will win 🤣🤣. But seriously the road will tell who/which team/tactics was the best.

Serious question: Is there anything at all for Primoz (or other riders) to gain in this situation by helping their teammate win other than a bunch of thank yous? If the answer is no then they should absolutely go get theirs and race how they’d like!

Roglic will never ride for Pog, EVER. He will ride against him. If you watch Pog interviews-he always refers to Rog as Roglic, never as Primoz. These two are not friends in the slightest. And that’s OK. Pog doesn’t need Roglic to ride for him, he will destroy the opposition all by himself tomorrow. All he needs is a team that sets up a pace that will thin the herd a lot until the last two laps and Belgium, France and Spain are there for that.

Sepp Kuss robbed Roglic and Jonas of winning the Vuelta last year, what are you talking about. Both riders allowed Sepp to be in Red, to give him something back. They allowed him to be in a breakaway early in the vuelta and sobreaking one of the rules, that your number one helper is not allowed to be in a breakaway that early in a race. They allowed him to do so but not to win the race. Thats the difference. I know that hurts your feelings, but you yourself, if it comes to other riders tell us the same thing. And now again, you tell us that Roglic has to work for Tadej...why has Tadej not work for Roglic? Why is Tadej allwowed to attack Roglic, but not the other way arround? Makes no sense!! Btw, Roglic absolutely will Tell Tadej, what he will do in that race. As he told Kuss and also later in the vuelta the reporters. And why isTadej not answering about the tactics? Curios....

How about none of the top riders, Pogacar, Roglic, Evenepoel, MVDP, getting ahead in an escape and are going to battle it out in the last lap(s)? If roglic wins then, there will be no fight over it, the best legs and lungs win finally. Also, if Roglic and Pogacar start a war amongst them, chances are great they will both lose to Evenepoel or other first row guy. Then they both cannot show up in Slovenia for months...

Rog likes to play guessing games. Geraint Thomas said Rog commonly says his legs are bad or he's tired and then he's off down the road later that stage. I think Rog rides for Rog and he likes to play mind games. I think Rog and Pog will ride for themselves. I think Pog will go and if Remco can keep up, they'll work together. Pog will likely be off on his todd. I do wonder and hope that Pog comes off this impossible high level next year as we need competition. At least Lance used to only ride June July + Amstel Gold and leave the rest of the season for the plebs :/

My guess would be, Roglic will start attacking other nations favorites (Remco/MVDP/others) in Lap 1 of the circuit. Just like Visma did in TDF 2022 where they attacked Pogacar frequently. Pogacar will be there marking MVDP/Remco once Roglic attack. Last 2 laps will be the Pogi show. Pogi domestique of this race are Remco/MVDP/other favorites.

Oh my, attacking your team mate must be much worse than I first thought. Chris keeps bringing up the Sepp incident in Spain 23. Remember 2 guys attacked him though and the other one seems to have been forgotten about. In hindsight it looks like Roglic had made his mind up to leave Visma by that point and he was just being impetuous. Why would Pogi race in the worlds and not Spain to complete the real trio in the same season? He looked untouchable in Italy and France. My take is Tadej made a deal with Primoz so he missed Spain, which gifts it to Rogla, and gets help in Sunday’s race from him.
