Please WillE, dont accept World of Warships sponsorships, i say this as someone who played that game for years and had to walk away because of the scummy practices of the company. This is by no means a comprehensive list of the things that they do, but they straight up scam the playerbase for money, it got so bad at one point that a huge section of their community contributor program had a walkout, and abandoned it because they could no longer stand their scummy business practices and horrible treatment of players and contributors alike. @@toffeelatte6042 It's not, it's a desktop PC game, if it was just another mobile game i wouldn't have an issue with it. But they take it even further than normal scummy games, for example. Instead of releasing loot boxes filled with crap and a few good things with terrible odds of getting them, they release loot boxes with terrible things and a few good things... with NO odds of getting them, as in it's LITERALLY impossible to get the good thing, until you've spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get ALL the shit items first. Meanwhile marketing the entier thing without any mention of such things. That's just one thing, they have been scamming their playerbase and outright lying and gaslighting them for YEARS. I'm all for advertising mobile games and earning a quick buck or whatever, i am NOT ok with advertising for companies that straight up scams their playerbase.

Ulduar tier 4-set-bonus is actually making Rupture ticks to crit, making it actually worth to use. That setbonus got changed later in some expansion where most dots became able to crit in baseline, and isn't archieved properly.

The main reason why the rogue was really strong in hardmode progression back then was the mix of S-tier damage and extremely low damage taken values. Feint is the real deal. It makes a big difference when you are really high in damage, even #1 in some cases, and at the same time have 90% less damage taken than the rest of the raid. It's quite possible to get 100% feint uptime as an assa rogue, at the cost of a few dps of course... but hardly worth mentioning. if you don't spam a feint, you are of course always #1 :)

The assassination pvp spec was preferred for RLS back in the day, can actually see it quite a bit in MLG tourneys here on KZbin. have no clue how that stacks up with current knowledge of the game as I don’t pay attention to private servers.

Love the vids! I’m gonna be rolling mage in wrath. When you do your mage video can you talk about if its possible to main fire spec from the start or are you just never gonna get a raid/dungeon invite cause your not “meta” and starting as arcane

Possible? Yes. It's pretty meh though. You can go Fire from the very beginning, it's still viable, but it will do worse damage than Arcane at first. Arcane doesn't have very high gear requirements, wheareas Fire DPS will not be great until you have enough crit to start throwing instant pyros left and right. Personally I will just stay Arcane until I have the gear, because I think Fire isn't that much fun to play if I don't crit enough. If you are min-maxing, the point where it's truly worth switching is when you have the Ulduar 4-piece set bonus. But even before that you can do pretty good damage if you adapt your gear towards more crit.

Getting kill me please on combat back as the ability you actually choose should be fun. I remember using it in Cata to kill someone trying to fly away on a mount chasing them through the air until it dismounts them, then using the legendary dagger effect to save myself with the slowfall as they fell to their death over SW.

I've been experimenting with Mutilate spec while leveling my rogue in TBC and honestly I think it has potential. Envenom is doing crazy damage and is a huge portion when I kill a target. I feel like there's a disconnect between your points of "Now poisons will actually do damage" and "Now envenom won't remove your poisons and kill your dps". Otherwise solid video.

Mutilate ist useless in TBC. Im a Full SWP geared Rogue and my poisons dont even do 1% of my overall dmg on brutallus which is because they dont scale with ap in tbc. Just the baseline dmg ist okay (not enormous. just okay). A very well played and geared Mutilate wont come even close to a bad played combat in tbc.

Guys if you go for PVE Rogue-COMBAT in WOTLK classic for Alliance side bis endgame is wotlk race is Nightelf (Increased Agillity-the most important stats,you have Shadowmeld racial+vanish so you can use extra potion of speed on long fight durations like Lich King 25 HC fight and Halion),For the Horde side its really similar if you go for max stats build ORC is the best burst DPS for Rogue but this is so important ive been testing a lot of years and seems like Troll is BIS for endgame content,Berserking racial is really important the more haste u have more energy you gain and ofc for the long fight durations are the most important thing about the trolls berserking makes the difference on the DPS,this is all min max combarable things , the thing is to know your class how to manage cds and rotations ,you can also play in alliance Human as well im not saying its big difference but Nightelfs are bis for endgame also the same situation in the horde side ofc you can go ORC.I prefer this to the PVE players that are going to play hard and really competetive endgame content for WOTLK CLASSIC. Professions for MAX PVE PERFORMANCE:(you can go JWC+ENGI the most played combo or you can go TAILOR+ENGI combo a lot of HC endgame players prefer the tailoring back enchant 400 attack power proc, it really makes the difference between the burst of an JWC+ENGI and TAIL+ENGI rogue,As i mentioned before this is all small things when you assume all things Rogue combat is really RNG class in WOTLK)You can check guides for Combat Rogues there is Rupture and there is Eviscerate builds all depends what style you want to play.(Eviscerate is easier build for endgame and can make really big numbers,Rupture is kinda RNG you add + one spell to track on the rotation so it makes a bit difference and harder to play but also makes huge single target dmg,make sure you select the proper Glyphs for each spec.) I hope this will help to the players who are about to play WOTLK CLASSIC ROGUES.

i seem to remember hunger for blood only working off your bleed and stacking 3 times for a total of 15% so if u accidentally let rupture fall off the target u would lose the buff and since it has a 30 second cd it takes 1:30 to stack it back again

That's one of the very first versions, I think the way it worked was it costs 30 energy to use, stacks up to 3 times and refunds the energy cost if your target is bleeding. You would stack it up pre-pull and then refresh it before it drops during the fight, it was also during the early Master Poisoner version that granted you 100% DP proc chance instead of not consuming DP.

A little info you missed with tricks of the trade, you can cast the ability and then click the threat generating buff off yourself while the target keeps the damage buff.

You can tricks someone giving them the dmg buff then cancel the threat transfer buff off yourself. They get the full buff and you only transfer threat from that 1 auto.

when giving out tricks for dps (which tbf should always be the case, tricksing tank is just a waste) best targets are aff locks and shadow priests since they can roll the 15% dmg increase on corruption/swp

The beauty of Tricks of the Trade is that the Rogue can decide to cancel the aura that gives threat to the ability. So I can decide to regular Tricks the Trade my tank and have him jump up in threat, or Tricks a dps and immediately cancel the buff that increases threat(but they still maintain the dmg buff). OR!!!!!! I take bids for what dps wants to buy my tricks. ...just sayin Edit/PS: Combat Rogue BiS Ulduar through ICC... I'll eat crow if not :)

This was the last current xpac I actually played, and even then I only started after ICC came out lol As others said Assassination was definitely viable in pvp, I don't think I ever touched sub and had a pretty good time in 2s with a ret pally (probably capped out around 2.3-2.4k). I ended up making a dozen or so fraps videos with my buddy on ventrillo I revisit every few years to remember the good times

Huhu do assasination Rouges share gear (daggers) with subtlety? So that you could enjoy both a little bit of both PVP and PVE instead of for example if you play combat and have to farm two complete sets of weapon?

1. Threat in wotk wasnt an issue as long as your tank was at least semi competent 2. Rogues would usually ToTT each other, if there was only one rogue you would get spammed by all dps classes for TOTT 3. vigor was pretty bad as a talent unless you were bad at managing energy. if that was the case you were just better off rolling arcane mage and press two buttons 4. vigor worked with vanish, and vanish as a skill was more often than not an offensive skill (gives immunity for around a second after use and lets you ignore certain mechanics that are supposed to kill or stun you - eg. putricide fight) 5. Combat pulls ahead of assassination only once you get enough ARP, otherwise for most of the expansion assassination was slightly better 6. Conqueror's 1st bonus was super jacked for assasination, and it was BIS-ish to mix it in with t9, then t10 was super good. 13% 3CP was basically meant 0,45 CP each time you do a finishing move so that promoted finishing with 4 whenever you landed on it instead of going to 5cp before finishing. 7. Rogues were really good throughout the wotlk Also they need to bring elitist jerks back for wotlk remake ;) edit: and remember to be IMBA ;)

Raid geared combat rogues in pvp during the last tier are just insane. Can cheap shot, expose armor and killing spree and almost anything will die with no further input

Well 2 min cd+ if someone near target it wouldnt hurt that much. Shadowdance is more practical with lesser cd. Tho anyway rogue is least played class of Wotlk, by ironforge metrics.

I Played Rogue in Wrath and your expectations for Assassination in raids is pretty much spot on from what i remember. we had 3 rogues in our ICC HC 25 team, 2 combat rogues and me, They would beat me on cleave ofc. but my ST damage was insane (kept up with a fire mage who was insanely geared) I think my plan is the same this time around :D

Tbh that assa spec you showed really isn't that great before ToC. Even up till late Ulduar using the envenom spec does alot more damage than actually using Rupture. You basicly go 51 Assa, 13 combat and 7 sub going 5x relentless strikes and 2x opportunity. All you do is keep up SnD, HFB, spam Mutliate and use Envenom on 4-5 combat points. I think assas may of been easier for people to play and deals more reliable damage where as misplaying on sub rogue may not grant you reliable damage at all. Also it may be kind of nice to main 1 spec for pve and pvp idk if thats viable or you have to spec it differently..

Combat rogue is pretty broken in ICC with tailoring/engineering and 1400 armor pen. Something cool you can do with Fan of Knives is macro a 2nd 2.6 slow weapon to your off-hand before FoK is cast, then macro your normal fast OH to sinister strike.

Assassin is actually quite viable in PvP. You lose Shadow Step and Shadow Dance but traded off with incredible consistence damage from Mutilate and big Cold Blood + Eviscerate early on. Later on you can go for Envenom build but it blocks off a lot of chain CC potential. If Deadly Poison can be removed in PvP I think the build will have some chance competing with sub in certain comp.

Cant wait for the warlock changes. Also im amazed by the amount of good changes blizz back then from TBC to Wotlk, unlike the current blizz and the lazy "new" talents we are getting in Dragonflight

Assassination was the number one spec for PVP (Muti-Prep) for basically every bracket until the third season of WOTLK. Reckful was probably the most notable rogue to push Sub as the "better" PVP spec. In 2v2 Muti-Prep is the default choice for the whole expansion. The primary reason rogues moved to Sub was for more control, because ToC and ICC gear pushed many casters way over the top in terms of their ability to do damage. As well as changes to casters, like making their ghostwolf ignore slows, so without shadowstep you wouldn't be able to apply pressure. Shadow Dance was changed so many times over the expansion - and the bugs with the shadow dance bar made it not viable for real top level PVP until those were fixed.

Lowkey I think he did that because it was bugged in Warmane for a very long time and 1 point got you the 100%. Maybe he copy pasted the build off their forums and thought people just run around with 33%.
