Completely different format. Production costs are way higher. They sell the program to different countries and broadcast companies. Generating several millions of pounds on in total.. I don't think the whole Rogue Invitational event generates 1 million. WSM isn't going to be organised or survive on ppv. AIG holds the rights and just put it on a shelf for a couple of years!

100% agree. I love Strongman. Really the only sport I watch, but I don't watch WSM anymore. What's the point? You know who wins before you even watch it. It would be like watching the Superbowl 6 months after it happened. Just dumb. Love that rogue does this though.

I really like the rules for this event. I mean especially with the straps only used and not figure eight straps like I think it looks hideous when the lifter don't even hold the bar or just have a finger or two contacting the bar when they deadlift. Regular straps sure help you a lot but you still need to hold the bar in some form to make the straps work.

No shade, these weights are still over double what I'll ever be able to deadlift. But it's crazy how much the standard for max deadlift has dropped over the past 4 years or so. I remember watching the Arnolds and WSM around l 2016-2019 and a 1000lbs deadlift would struggle to get you into the top 3!

that will never happen in strongman, unlike powerlifting, they have farmers walks, deadlift ladders, etc. designed to test grip strength. They are not interested in testing grip on pure Deadlift.
