So I posted the answers on KVR a while ago, and I wanted to post them here today, but I lost my answer sheet, so I don't know which synth is the real JP, lol, so yay HIVE.

I think you mightve saved me a lot of money as I was thinking about buying a JP ....but Hive sounds so close but I think if you add a chorus it would be even closer

Well I got it, 100%, so......I mean it's close but I guessed the JP 8080 correctly.

I think this test is a trick because the HIVE envelopes are clearly set longer to make it "sing" more which is a sound associated with trancey JP sounds. But I didn't need convincing I think hardware has been irrelevant outside of workflow for years now. Especially VA.

Even though I never played a JP i knew every A was the JP - the Envelopes on the Hive faded out less a lot of times (often with VST´s) - but I guess you could just get them a bit more fade out and by then its pretty hard

Every A was NOT the JP.

@@LincolnHawkMusic So lets do it with another thought 1. A = JP 2. JP = B 3. JP = A 4. JP = A 5. JP = A the other sequences are to hard to compare i think - about 3. I feel the least secure Is it right that the envelopes are different? I guess Hive also has Snappier envelopes right?

@@LincolnHawkMusic Ok then i got mislead that the Jp being marked always as A in the description

It is, but when it comes to making jp-style supersaws, Hive really does it well.

Wich synth engine did you use for supersaw? Clean, normal or dirty?
@LincolnHawkMusic6 ай бұрын
All 3.

@@LincolnHawkMusic so you use 3 instances? You can't use all 3 at the same time that's impossible? What are you talking about??
@LincolnHawkMusic15 күн бұрын
@@mechwarreir2 The engine used depends on the sound you want. There isn't one engine that is best at this. So a clearer question from you would be to ask which engine I used for a specific preset.
You got 3 out of 5 right. Do the last 3 - those are more representative of what they would be like in a mix. Much more difficult to tell apart.

I was thinking about to do a compare between two synths, because for me Hive 2 was the first VST synthesizer that sounds very close to JP8080/8000 but i never had a real JP 8000 in my hands :)
@LincolnHawkMusic Жыл бұрын
Hive 2, in my opinion, nails the JP Supersaw sound. I don't know about all the other types of JP sounds, but the supersaw - HIVE does it almost exactly.
@NatLifeSounds Жыл бұрын
@@LincolnHawkMusic +1 I created almost same supersaw sounds on Hive but I have never tested it with JP8000) thanks for your compression 😉🍺
