You can use Scene Linking for drum fills. Set the Scene length to 1 and put a drum roll etc at the start of the selected drum clip. Set the previous Scene length to 7 or 15 or 23 etc. To get the fill any shorter you have to adjust the master tempo length from 128 to 64 steps (press shift and tempo). Useful if you want a drumroll on a long drum pattern but don't want a drumroll every time the drum pattern plays. Just use the Scene Linking to do it

Some really simple updates would go a loooong way: 1. More Func menu options per section - right now there is either one or two per section. It would speed up sound design and decrease the need to go into the partials. Why not three or four? Like osc + func could easily have a third where you can adjust Fatness, etc. 2. More random options. Random oct and scale quantized random note (note position doesn’t move - the note randomly plays a pitch in the scale) 3. Note probability 10%, 20%, 30%, etc. etc. 4. Way more knob assign options - separate osc 1 level, osc 2 level, etc. for starters (you can set this via matrix but what a needless hassle) 5. As a graphic designer, when the MC707 goes into Vegas mode the colors look fantastic compared to the stock color pallet. Since the lights are capable of graduation between hue, why not allow for more subtle changes in color when adjusting pads?

I know this was a while ago, but if you have any repeating sections, you can just export those tracks to a sample and then load them onto a drumkit. That potentially gives you 16 virtual tracks per physical track. You have to do some volume matching in the kit setup pages (but you can do effects send *per pad* in the drumkits), but if you need specific volume/effect controls you can use another track for those parts. It eats into the polyphony/CPU if you have muted tracks, so if you're not using it in that project, or you've dumped it to a sample - clear it.

Hi Glenn, can you kindly brief how to use korg kronos with mc 707. I have a midi out from kronos to midi in into Mc707. I have also set the Midi Rx Auto Channel to 1. But nothing happens. Iam not able to trigger kronos to play MC. Please advise what am I doing wrong.

Go into "Global settings" on the Kronos and go to the "MIDFI" menu in the window. On the top you will see what channel your Kronos is set to. Use the same channel on the MC-707 :-)

Great video. So are the scene chains saved as part of the project? I understand people might want the concept of a song and the song puts these scenes together and you save them. But if this allows you the chain within the project, I'd be good with that.

You can have up to 8x16 scenes in one project--- that is a lot :-) And you can trigger them at any points in your song :-)

Side chaining would be a great feature 😃😃 There is a way to do it with the LFO, but it would be so much better if Roland could make a drum pad trigger the “ducking” of the compressor at any given channel 😃 Let’s hope they do that 👍👍

Hello, how to record 8 midi MC drums parts in cubase?

You can setup the MC 707 as thje soundcard, and then you get 18 channels audio out from it over USB. 1 stereo channel from each of the 8 channels, and one stero out. You can set the cubase to sync the MC 707 in the "Transport setup" and enable the midi clock to send to the MC707. I hope that helped you :-)

@@lessgama7435 - The channel output refers to what track you are using on the MC707. I always have the drums on track 1.. so it is the out 1 and 2 from the MC707 usung it as soundcard :-)
