I recently acquired a TD17 KVX. They feel and sound great, only learning about saving own kits from factory 50 and then tweaking to preferred levels and voices, good so far . Nice roll on vid at beginning and also at 3.24 ! single or double stroke ?? any opinions anyone ?

What sample rate is required for the samples, and how do dynamics and such work when you use your own samples? Do they just go away, or do you need to load X number of samples per piece, or does the brain just adjust the sound of a single sample depending on how you hit the pads and such?

It only allows one shot samples. So it will play the same sample no matter how hard you hit it. Obviously the harder you hit it the louder it is. There is a way to have two layers of sounds. You can layer a soft hit with a loud hit and have the loud hit fade in at a certain velocity. It works pretty good when done right. There is still machine gunning though. The best option is to layer a sample with an existing sound in the module.

I am in between the 17 kv and 17 kvx, Is there a difference in sound? & does having a stand alone high hat stand makes a difference? and worth £500 Extra. I would really appreciate an advice

Get the KVX model. It is worth every single penny over the KV model. The sounds are the same as it uses the same module, the TD17. Having bigger 3-zone pad cymbals and a moving hi hat on a stand makes the playing experience much better.

Wait, please explain. Did you say you got samples from Superior drums and made a complete kit, using them via SD-card in your td-17? Aren't those samples huge in size? I admit, I don't know much about samples and I just got my td-17, but if you can use real acoustic drum samples in the td-17, it is truly amazing. Oh, and I would like to know how to get free kits like the one you got from Superior drums.

No you can’t download multi layer samples in the Td-17 that’s not possible, only 1 shot samples. Wonder if the new SSD 5.5 one shot samples can be downloaded as wav file in the TD-17 module...

I had to buy these cymbal mounts, the kit comes with smaller ones. The kick pedal isn’t included. Also comes with a cheaper stand, you have to buy the one recommended separately. There’s 2 models, the KV and KVS. The KVS comes with the hi hat stand, which costs 300 more!

Congratulations, Is it possible to play the td17kv with the brushes? Or is there a sound already programmed in the control unit that allows you to get the sound of the brushes playing with the sticks? Thank you

Lovely guy... talented drummer... very interesting product and well showcased in a short video... but NOT a review. This is a video designed to sell you this kit. I'm in the market for one of these having also played a TD30 for many years and considering an additional purchase of either this TD17 or a TD25 - and this video showed me nothing by way of what this kit lacks. I've now gone elsewhere and discovered its down points. I would have respected this video more had it at least said a few things regarding what you DON'T get with this kit. The world 'review' in the title is not accurate.
