It's a very good electric drum set.
I very glad that I bought it.
It's expensive for what we have in the market today, but it sounds and feel great.
Roland got a lot to improve for their next model
I hope that someone in Roland drum division will see this video and will Designed a better model for the next release.
For the price and the competition that we've got out there Roland you can give us better

I've been playing drums for 14 years and I have had this drumset for about 3 months now. Absolutely love it. I have Pearl Redline Eliminator Double Bass and HiHat pedals. The bluetooth feature helps you forget that the module only has 7 songs. Personally, I think this is a harsh review. The drum set has amazing sounds and it's accuracy is Roland quality, which means it's GREAT.

I play drums since 51 years, and since 1 year with TD-17KVX. All the problems in this review can be solved with ajustments. All! This a great drum. Just take the time to learn about it, and play.

Hey man, glad to see you found something after the price gouging that was happening on the Alesis Surge in your country. This Roland kit is objectively better, and your options for upgrading in the future are nearly endless. Unfortunately, Alesis has a bad reputation for durability and Yamaha isn't putting out anything so Roland does not see either of them as a threat in the electronic drum kit market. I know you probably don't have much room, but you've got your kit set up far too tight, and that's likely the reason why you're striking the white plastic around your pads. If you open up the kit a little bit the ergonomics will be much better and your playing will improve as a result.

It’s not perfect but the sound is amazing, I just learned to conform myself to the set, it’s not perfect but if you learn to hit the drum head in the middle, I would read and search information before buying, Happy Drummer

Love Roland, I have one myself for many years. That being said I definitely agree with you. At that price point one should definitely get more of the higher end pads.

Can I ask you a few questions. Can you Fold it even more compact to save more space when not in use? is it possible to put rubber around the white plastic? And would you prefer other brands like Alesis and which model would you have gotten(I heard the module on them are garbage tho)? And also what is the current footprint of your 17kvx in this video?

Roland drums are one of the top drum brands. Alesis makes nice looking drums, but just as they look good they don't sound great tbh. This video isn't really a good review on it.. I would never make a review like this if you're a beginner. They don't explain it well. Maybe watch other videos. The white plastic doesn't affect playing though, maybe you can put rubber there by yourself but it'd look a little funky...but yes you can actually fold it, if you loosen the connections and all it collapses really easily..

hey I'm thinking of getting this for myself and my son. it's not cheap but was thinking if I buy a cheaper lower end kit 1 to 2 years when we get better we would definitely want a better kit and I'd rather buy something good for long term. What would you recommend? because upgrading is just more costly overall.

That is a tough answer. If you planning to play Everyday drum, then I would have pick the KVX. If you plan to play only half an hour every day Just for fun just to enjoy it., then I would have pick the KV. Basically, if you thinks it's in another 2 years you going to be a professional choose the kvx

I cannot disagree more: 1.If you play more and get better with the layout you won't hit platic anymore also, maybe they're not the best toms (I had better on my previous td12kx years ago) but you keep saying for this p[rice it should be better.Well.This drum kit is cheap and the the stuff you get for the money is great(not just for beginners)especially if you customise it yourself(sound tweaks, reverbs, ambient settings) You just need to tweak some things. Also the way you have set it up is way too close to each other, not surprised you cannot play comfortably and you hit stuff unnecessarly.I know it's individual and you consider space it takes but if you open up the rack and spread the pads you'll feel a masive difference. 2. Complaining about amount of songs ?really? They're shit anyway,Why would you play along them if you can play along any other music via bluetooth or usb? 3. Don't say the kit sounds amazing right from the box.It doesn't.Do the update and upload your own samples(or premade kits) and ambients.Try layer sound feature-you won't recognise your drum kit!!!!! 4. Your hihat cymbal pad is upside down ,I mean logo should be on the opposite side(away from you)rotate it 180degree

The good news is it's not as expensive as a TD-50KVX......the bad news is that it's not a TD-50KVX! We get what we pay for, friend.
