Live Leak, well, solid gold gas it’s weight and I don’t mind that, it suits that watch. The smurfs are a bit more under the radar but indemnified as gold watches by guys who know a bit about watches. I like two tone watches the most, you can get them with discount, don’t pay ridiculous money like you do for the steel or full gold versions and you got the strength of steel and the bling of gold in one watch

I own this watch. Putting a cheap rubber B strap on this is blasphemy. If you are worried about scratches, don't buy a PM watch. Buy a plastic G-shock. BTW, wear mine every day and enjoy the hell out of it. It holds up very well.

Anicetus W, I bought mine new but on grey market with heavy discount, still a bit more expensive than used ones. I would recommend that way or look for a good in shape 16618, if I would be on the market for a gold Rolex I would went for that as I think the regular blue non ceramic matches better the sunburst Dial. And these are pretty stable on the used market.

I got a 16808 blue dial, but I ran into an issue when they said there were aftermarket parts in my watch. Smh. the Bracelet, the sapphire crystal, the bezel, the hand of the clock and even the blue dial they said were all after market parts. not sure if that really affected of the 16808, what are your thoughts on this? is it normal for old 80's Rolex watches to have after market parts in them since they are so hard to source for original parts since Rolex does not make them anymore?

Anicetus W, you can get a regular service from Rolex with original parts but sometimes some things do change even if build in by Rolex. Vintage Datejusts which were serviced frequently are an good example. Older dials do not have the minute tracks, these came far later but if a watch was serviced later on by Rolex you have a 16013 from 84 with 2001 Dial. You should learn about the history and service history of a watch before you buy, I can’t tell you what’s alright or not with not having a foto of that Sub. There are “Franken watches”, there are frequently serviced watches and there are regular NOS once or as well serviced and kept as close to the original as possible. So, yeah, it might be just a thrown together piece or a regular one, I don’t know, hope you haven’t burned to much money there.

Dapper Gent, check it out it definitely isn’t too heavy, try one on at an ad and if you shorten the bracelet it’s going to be less. Or you went two tone which is less delicate and less heavy. 👍🏻🙏🏻

MrTommyknocker I’ve the same watch it’s fairly weighty. I kinda worry about it a bit. 18kt gold is quite soft. And the centre polished sections scratch quite easy. I wear mine but not daily. I’ve a few stainless steel watches for that.

Besten Dank Marcel, ich hab die Uhr ja drei Jahre gehabt uns sie war meine grail Uhr aber ehrlicherweise muss ich sagen das es ok war sie zu verkaufen. Am Ende war sie kaum noch am Arm und ein vollgold case war manchmal vom Gefühl her wie ein Stück Butter am Arm, vollgold ist nichts für Leute die Angst vor Kratzern haben 😂😂😁😁 Aber nein, ich hab mit ihr festgestellt das mit die Mischung, also two tone besser liegt, die gmt ist nach wie vor bei mir und wird mich nicht verlassen, die Trag ich aber auch um Intervall jeden Tag. Von daher alles gut 👍🏻🙏🏻

Ich kann das schon gut verstehen. Gold + Sub - das ist schon ein fettes Stück am Arm. Two tone ist genial! Nicht nur, das es eine gute Alternative ist zu den begehrten StSp-Modellen ist, wenn man sich erstmal drauf eingelassen hat, lassen sie einen auch irgendwie nicht mehr los. Die Kombi SG, das Schimmern je nach Lichteinfall... herrlich! Wobei ich hier aus meiner Erfahrung raus klar sagen muss, das mir hier die neuen Modelle aufgrund der solid center links besser gefallen. Viele Grüsse und viel Spass mit den Uhren :))

Super Troll, ich hatte die Uhr 2 Jahre lang, habe sie während meiner Zeit in China getragen. In Mexiko und auch hier in DE unmöglich. Im Office in Deutschland waren die oberen mit Apple und wenn überhaupt Junghans ausgestattet bzw mit TH oder Sinn und das wars. Ich hab den Ticker ziehen lassen, war mein Gral aber ich lasse keine Uhr rumliegen. Zur Wertanlage taugen die Ticker nix, ich hab meine neu zum Glück zu einem guten Preis kaufen können, aber ich hab sie nicht mit Gewinn verkauft. Tolle Uhr aber wenn ich ehrlich bin ist Stahl Gold eher mein Ding, auch ein Grund warum meine 116713 schon Soo lange bei mir ist und oft an den Arm kommt.

Weissgold , oder gar Platin ist auch keine Alternative , zu weich, das Metall und eigentlich zu schade zum tragen. Besser Stahl statt Gold, sonst kam der Dieb und stahl das Gold😂

I enjoyed it, but 5 minutes till we actually get to see the watch is a bit long, you know ?! Good job on putting the watch on your wrist, in my opinion every watch review should include a wrist shot. Would love to see your GMT Master II next. Im absolutely not a fan of two-tone watches, but the tt GMT looks just awesome, i like it a lot ! You are german, am i right ? Me too ! yes It’s solid gold and has a nice weight to it, I wear all my watches but it is like it is, I wear my 116713 with more ease than I did the 116618LB.
