It's the first Q&A of the year *whoop whoop*! Thank you so much for sending in your questions here on KZbin and on Instagram!
I'm discussing Rolex & Omega recommended service intervals, iced-out watches, my watch book recommendations and all sorts of other good stuff!

Thank you to @Watch Club for letting me use part of their footage from their K. Chaykin Audacity 2 review that you can watch here: • Konstantin Chaykin Clo...
📖 Books in this video
1.) The Watch Book, by G. Brunner
(Great overview on pretty much most watch brands out there in English, French and German with lots of great pictures and historical data)
2.) Vintage Rolex, by D. Silver
(A must have for Rolex-Fans! Mostly pictures of super rare vintage Rolex watches)
3.) Erotische Uhren, C. Prignitz (GERMAN ONLY)
(About the history of erotic dials, also includes parts of the history of watchmaking in general and beautiful pieces of poetry and literature to go with it. Totally recommend it for history lovers!)
Thank you for watching my video :-) I really appreciate all of the support, the kind words and your constructive feedback that helps me improve my videos and my content - you guys are the best!!

@@JLchevz I never think about it . In the military our unit (special operations) always wore our watches. You're always timing something. How many seconds are you free falling before pulling your rip cord. How many minutes have I been under the water + decompression time. What time to go on watch . Etc , etc. Many timmes you had to get up and go . Didn't pay to take it off . Old habits die hard .

As a native English speaker from the US, I would actually prefer to see the native language of origin written on the dial of the watch (I'd rather see the native language of origin used for the entire watch, actually). It is one of my favorite things about my vintage Boctok Амфuбuя. It says "сделано в cccp" at the bottom of the dial.

My wife does what you do- watches/jewelry come off when she is home. I’m the opposite and wear mine all the time except when: showering, working outside (yard, snow), golf, working out. A quick glance at my watch during the night and I’m right back to sleep. Looking at a clock on the nightstand, forget it, I’m wide awake.

Hey Jenni - awesome video - that Cartier Santos looks like a GREAT 30th birthday gift! Can I ask a question about the watch rolls? I have a small wrist so, consequently, when I buy a watch I have to remove many of the links which of course leaves a very small band which generally doesn't work with watch rolls because the cushions are so big I cannot close the clasp of my piece around them.... Is there any rolls you can buy with smaller cushions? Cheers - love your work ;)

I never take my watches off. When I go to bed I wear a Fitbit on my left arm and a Garmin Fenix 6 on my right, both fitness trackers, which also measure sleep stages etc. I have a lot of watches so usually change from one to the other during the day. I have a few xpensive watches ( not super expensive) but not a watch snob so have some really cheep watches, which I cherish also. Because I have a few watches I rarely get them serviced because really no point if I only wear each watch a few days a month. Wearing a Junker Max Bill as I write this, which I like a lot because of its simplicity and lack of clutter

Hi I do wear my watches usually 24h per day 7 days per week. I take the watch from my wrist only when I want to change it to the other one or when I am getting a bath and it has a letter strap. Or changing the date or time or battery or strap. Occasionally I do take it off for different reasons but not very often. I think the reason why I didn't remove watch when I am at home because my watches fits ver well and are not disturbing me. I don't have oversize watches as I am conservative in this field.

I keep a watch on when I'm at home. I need to time things a lot at work, and a chronograph happens to be more convenient than taking things out of my pocket when I'm in a lab. So, when I get home, I wear watches that I don't wear as often when I'm at work. I would wear a field watch if I'm grilling, for example, or something that I can wash without a worry when cooking. I just enjoy wearing watches.

I wear my watches at home after work so I can enjoy them that much more. I often change to another watch when I come home for more wrist time with my collection, why not, if you don’t wear them you limit the enjoyment you receive. If the watch feels heavy after a full day I will take it off. Any handy work around the house or outdoor maintenance usually warrants not wearing a finer timepiece.
