I’m right there with you! This came from out of nowhere for me. I had very little expectations but after playing it, I was blown away! If I had played this earlier, it would’ve placed very high in my “Best of 2021” video!

Thank you for a great review! I'm a D&D fan--I've role played along with 5e books, and I own three of the board games--but D&D has yet to create a role playing game of this depth which does not require a Dungeon Master. I am really excited to see board games becoming more immersive and so in depth that you lose yourself in them!🙂 This game looks awesome!

This is definitely one of the best story-driven board games I’ve ever experienced. I believe you had written that you enjoy games with dice rolling and Roll Player Adventures, I believe, will be a lot of fun for you. There is a good mix of dice rolling, card play and story which culminates into a must play experience! If this is what D&D is like, I would love to experience that one day!

As always, thanks for showing the table space required for the game. Too much of a table hog for me but I enjoy these types of narrative driven games so who knows what the future might hold. I still have Legacy of Dragonholt to get through and a few game books before I even think of picking this up.

You’re welcome! I get you. It takes a lot of space. To be fair, I’m pretty sure it can be done in a way that takes much less space but I like having it all out. I took a look at Legacy of Dragonholt and it looks a little bit similar to RPA, book-wise, at least. From what I read in the description, it has a very similar flow, as well. I’m kind of glad you mentioned it. Thanks!

This game sounds awesome. I love those old school point and click games. Forgive me if you mentioned it and I missed it, but did you say how many hours you have put into it up to this point? I like big long games, but once it gets too big it starts to lose me a bit because I know I most likely won't be able to finish it.

There are 11 adventure books in total (12 if you include the side-quest adventure) and each take between 2-3 hours to complete. I would say it takes about 25 hours to complete an entire playthrough. I’m not sure exactly how long I took to complete it but I did the side-quest book, as well. Your mileage may vary. It is a great game and definitely worth checking out.

I almost, ALMOST wish you wouldn’t have mentioned Sleeping Gods! Not because you did anything wrong but because I’ve been eyeing Sleeping Gods at my local store and I have a feeling Sleeping Gods may be joining my collection in the very near future! I’m actually excited to play that one and a few others!

Ditto. I hesitated so much that it is now out of Stock everywhere I look ! Hope a 2nd edition comes out soon. To be honest, I do not mind playing several characters...the main criticism levelled at this game. Patience is the name and what is a bit of AP ! Regards.
