Such a loss. It takes a cool dude to remain a down to earth, laid back guy being in a world famous rock band for almost 60 years. Charlie said he thought of himself as a dedicated musician and not a rock star. He said he would leave that to the other guys. He was married to the same woman for 57 years that was actually older than him. He was definitely the rock in the band. The calm in the storm that they all needed. What a class act. I hope the Stones carry on but it will not be the same without him. My fantasy of the Stones carrying on touring forever with basically more or less the original lineup is now officially over. I had an inkling something wasn't right when Charlie said he wasn't joining this upcoming short US tour. It still was a shock hearing the news. I'm glad I got to see them with Charlie 3 or 4 times. A truly sad time and major loss for the music world.

The reason the Rolling Stones even lastest this long together was because of Charlie. He was the heart beat of the family.

Don't where you based that from. The Rolling Stones will continue touring. Jagger and Richard are the writers to all their hits and are the 2 that make show. Not denying that Watts did a great job.

I think it was because he was so quiet and steady and not looking for stardom that makes him so missed now. He was in away a sort unsung hero who was the quiet steady rock that secured the Stones.

Usually a band is remembered by a single generation but the Stones have spanned three generations of fans. Charlie was the quiet Stone, avoiding publicity, not to mention married to the same woman for 57 years as mentioned.

BUEN VIAJE,, CHARLIE WATTS.
