This is gold because it’s color footage from so long ago. Amazing! Brian Jones with that Teardrop guitar styling and making the girls go crazy. God, this is so early. You gotta hand it to Mick and Keith for lasting over 55 years as Rockers. That’s unreal. Back then no one thought rockers would play past 30. It was considered over the hill.

I was at this show when I was 15 years old. It was at Radcliff stadium which was where the Fresno state Bulldogs played their football games. The tickets cost two dollars if you sat on the home field side where you saw the front of the bands and one dollar if you sat on the visiting teams side and saw the backs of the bands. The stage was set in the center of the field at the 50 yard line. The low attendance was due to the show only having four or five days promotion on the local am radio station (KMAK) if I remember correctly.the other bands I remember being there were the Byrds, the Montclairs and a few others I do not remember. The Stones also played in Fresno much later at the Save Mart Center and tickets were being scalped for three to four hundred dollars.

My father tells me those radio adverts plugged them as "Bigger, Badder, and Uglier than The Beatles!" Today Ratcliffe is where Fresno City College plays. It also hosts high school football games. Journey, The Police, and Loverboy all played Ratcliffe during the summer of 1985 when I was in high school. I couldn't get a ticket to see Journey, but I did go to the other two shows. My first concert, age 13. There was a lot of screaming where I was at. I went further up in the seating to where I could hear. I hadn't been exposed to blues and R&B. I was altered. People raided the stage before The Stones finished their set, tearing at their clothes and instruments. The band jumped into the armored vehicle behind the stage. I ran out to the street, and kids were hanging on the side of the armored car as it went down the street! This footage doesn't show all of this.

Why are there so many negative comments?... Please, if you don't have anything good to say then don't bother expressing your "hater" attitude... Mick sounds fine and The Rolling Stones were and always will be one of the best bands ever... of course, The Beatles were & always will be #1 in my opinion but The Rolling Stones are #1.1 - I really respect that they never broke up and continued to create such wonderful music... even their last original album "Bigger Bang" from 2005 has a lot of great songs like "Rain Fall Down" & "Look What The Cat Dragged In" & "Laugh, I Nearly Died" - So proud to have seen them, 1st time when I was 12 at Candlestick, San Francisco in '81 (Tattoo You Tour - Great Album!) and then again in 1998 at Aloha Stadium on Oahu, Hawaii (Bridges To Babylon Tour - Great Album too!). Interesting seeing Charlie using the matched grip beloved of rock drummers back then rather than the old style open grip used by jazzers that he used later in his career . I saw an interview where he said he didn't have lessons as a youngster, just watched others and listened to records . Then he said he had lessons later in life ... ' from people like Jim ...' referring to Jim Keltner ... PA systems were primitive back then , doesn't look like much is miked up , so he was probably going for volume over finesse ...
