People complaining he doesn't call Rollo, Hrolfr or saying Rollo is wrong are ignorant or just stupid, you don't think he knows or wouldn't have come across Hrolf during his research. So you also do the same(cry & say it's wrong) someone says the name Charlemagne instead of Karl/Karolus/Charles Or William the conqueror instead of William the bastard? So many ppl think they know history yet know nothing 😂 Another great video mate. Keep great work up❤

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk about our history! I just wanted to add that some sources claim that the effigy of Rollo on his tomb in Rouen is actually a copy of Henri the Young King's effigy (Rollo's descendant) because the original has been destroyed during a bombardment in 1944. (sources including Rouen : la cathédrale Notre-Dame written by Yves Lescroart) Some say that his tomb is actually empty, or that Richard the 1st (his grandson) transferred his body to Fécamp but I don't think there is any actual proof of that. There is also this story in Normandy that says Rollo wanted to show how safe his land was, so he hung a gold bracelet to an oak tree in Roumare Forest, and 3 years later, nobody had stolen it (this story was told by Robert de Torigni, an abbe from the Mont Saint Michel). Thank you again for your video! Love from Normandy 😄

Hi there. My father's side on his grandmother's side are the Havelock's. Yes same General that has a statue in Travalger Square and Sutherland. Interesting to note Henry's farther was Mayor of Grimsby and he believed we are the descendants from Yael Havelock the Dane. Though I know all about the Sarga of Havelock and Grim is it possible if you maybe able to look into this character further😊. It was also believed from the Sargas the Havelock was a brother too Grom The Old first king of Denmark?.

We both also Have Randall Janney as an Ancestor, Mine through the Burgesses his through the Janney, Pierson line! Hrolfr, Robert , They call him by all these Names! They will not tell his Parentage but I would think with the Name Ragnasson , I would think that His Father was Ragnar, but some say His Father was Invar, I wish we knew!

So the Norman invasion of 1066 attack on England was mainly ,just another viking incursion.
@thibaultsardet7399
@thibaultsardet7399 6 ай бұрын
No, the viking incursion in 1066 was Harald Hardrada in the North of England. The normans of William were already assimilated to the Franks. Whether in terms of language (Old French), Marriage/Mixed Dna, Feudal political system (Vassalage to the king of the Franks), Art of War (Chivalry/Heavy Cavalry, Castles), Fashion, Trade, and especially Religion (Catholicism). Moreover, the army of William was not only composed of Normans, but also of barons and mercenaires from Britanny until Flanders, passing through Northern France.
