Trying to watch this trial has been so beyond frustrating! The quality and sound! Come on people it's 2022 and we can't get audio down? FFS! All court rooms should be like a stage and mic everyone!
@WobblesandBean2 жыл бұрын
I know. I think it might just be the defense lawyer though, she's utterly incompetent and she's probably nowhere close to the mic. Edit: Nope. The sound quality is just atrocious.
@MelancholyRequiem2 жыл бұрын
I think in general this courtroom was entirely unprepared for filming/streaming, and I think a major problem is where they set up mics. On some days, the only thing you can hear is the poor court reporter's every waking move, and somehow the mic becomes 4K anytime someone makes a cough or sniffle or any mouth noise that will set off everyone's misophonia.

One gentle suggestion for the next trial this channel streams: please please please more clearly organize the titles and videos. Day 2 seems to be missing completely, and my guess is that if you use a mix of numbers and words, the algorithm cannot properly suggest the next chronological video. For example, "day one" vs "day 3." I started with day 22 (I think) and the same issue exists.
@jenmdawg2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would greatly benefit them if they organized into playlists for viewers. There happens to be a lot of renewed interest in this case and looking for each day is very time consuming (let alone the audio issues) which has cost them views.

It's the judge. Most lawyers have a relationship with the judges that they work with, and in this case I'm pretty sure the judge simply ignores any objections regardless. So both of the lawyers here would know that, and wouldn't bother to object because I know it's pointless. There is an objection during Nancy's testimony, where her lawyer is asking blatantly leading questions, and while there's an objection from the prosecution, the judge completely ignores it.

@@cb-pc1df well, we are watching this case and will see what happens. My understanding is that she spent past 4 years in jail & hope this is where she will reside for the rest of her life. She is 71 years old, has single resort condo & 3 course meals served daily paid for by taxpayers so all the money if any she can possibly generate will go to the victims of crime & restitution. she is self published not by a reputable publisher & as such she would have to sell her own books ….not in jail. I don’t think she will ever need this $1.4 Million ….such a despicable waste of someone else’s life. Money (if any - I doubt) would go to a grieving Mother.
@cb-pc1df2 жыл бұрын
@@ElizabethKlimas Not necessarily. When you're in jail/prison your income doesn't automatically go to victims or even court fees. You can be ordered to pay but if she doesn't what are they going to do? Lock her up? A publisher can easily say they will print her books and she can do this from prison. The victims can sue for all proceeds but that takes time. Weird people write people in prison they don't know & some like to learn about murderers, wouldn't be surprised if her essay gets sold after this. A reporter said he went into every book store in downtown Portland and they didn't have her book but that can change. She could probably sell it on Amazon or ebay.

What doesn't make sense to me is the objections that the jury hears .. the prosecutor wanted to bring back up the issue of Dan being fired for an issue with a student because the lady answered that question saying yes. But the objections was held up. The jury already heard the answer. And the judge said, "oh , I'll just instruct them to disregard that ". How can someone unhear something? Like now that they know. It's not like they can act like they don't. How stupid is that.. I believe the judge was wrong for that...
