the Carthage video is the most helping as as far as i have known recent researches imply Carthaginians did not "sacrifice" their young they donated them to temples in hard times as an offering often exaggerated to infanticide.(possibly an importation into romano-christian beliefs from Abraham's despirate attempt to sacrifice his son) But i guess we'l never know

Brilliant stuff, looking forward to the series :) Just a suggestion, for towns such as tingi & Palma, if you're not planning to let it be a recruitment city, it's better to have milqart's temple due to the trade benefits, seeing as how the sea trade routes has been set up nicely for Carthage here. Public order is secondary cuz if you're making so much money from trade you won't need higher taxes :) but in any case great job

If you did not DL it yet, the mod is called Darthmod. The map you will want to play on is the first one on the list after selecting province campaign.

basicly choose Julii select easy difficulty on both campaign and battles and click short campaign then complete it within few minutes and there u go u have carthage greek egypt parthia selucid gauls germany and britain all at once :) have fun

@Coldmeat247: Why do you not use watchtowers more? It's great for keeping an eye on your territory so you can't be surprised by enemy armies sneaking into your lands. Also, why do you leave taxes on? I auto-manage settlements, I find it's easier for controlling the population's moods/behaviour.

The biggest difference between Rome and Medieval 2 is that it is very hard to get money. Build finacial buildings. Start with the faction with the most cities and the fewest castles so your economy is strong. Or you can start with a little faction so you can build up the right way. England is good for that.

Beat the game as any roman faction, and a bunch of other factions open up. Or you can edit the files to make all factions playable. There are tutorials on line for that.

You have to win the long imperial campaign with one of the three Roman factions in order to unlock other factions.

Suppose the DarthMod would have altered the stats. I used to love playing Carthage on the vanilla campaign, but you could hear me cringe from a mile away whenever a unit of Round Shield Cavalry would come up against their early Roman counter-parts.

uhm i dont know if its just my RTW but why do i have lesser towns when i start the campaign for the carthaginians? i dont have tingi and cirta and the one beside corduba lolz!...im playing in medium difficulty btw. and i have limited factions, carthage and romans lol

What do you mean? So many troops as in unit size or the amount of units?

Put as many troops as you can in Lilybaeum and Caralis for the Romans will attack those cities in the early part of the game relentlessly

I downloaded the game from filelist and when I strated the Carthaginian campaign almost everything was different...I didnt had the same flags and I had -3 provinces...are there mods or different versions?

Early game really is stacked against carthage. The combo of near useless infantry until the 3rd lvl barracks, along with no archers really hurts them early game. Plus Rome boasts strong units early. That said, Carthage can still be a deadly force. And in late game you are close to unstoppable.

i had a very tough choice to chose between carthage and egypt and i was appaled at what i saw in egypt but still made it through somehow ( made some cash then took war to the selucids and numidians with it) and it is now back to its normal figure on the map. but egyptian campaign is a disaster.

I think it's just part of Darthmod. The Romans stick to the old unit scale more. And cav isn't that effective in this game (with Darthmod)

The only reason I can think of for Auto Manage is if you're trying to challenge yourself. (E.G. By auto managing / Auto Resolving everything and trying to beat the game.) It would be difficult due to the computers lack of intelligence in those areas.

i think its a good idea to attack spain early on, but why not use a small force to conquer the rebels in africa before egypt steals them from you. you might want to attack the scipii on sicely early before the become too powerful. looking forward for more :)

I think he had a premonition or vision of Carthage falling and burning which is ironically true given what happens there are mentions of children sacrifice though this is most likely Roman propaganda.

idea for diplomat realism mod: offer 1:before sent to a settlement, must give your offers/demands to the diplomat. after meeting you won't know if they agree/disagree. only by sending the diplomat back to a settlement of yours[or to a general/family member] will you know your result. offer 2: if sending a diplomat to a ally/and or trader you can put the diplomat on the trade rout to save money. if later your/allies/traders port is assaulted the diplomat auto spawns on a merchant ship in the sea. plz add more to this and change the idea thx
