This scene remains my favorite scene of the movie. I was fourteen when it came out and everytime I passed a fishtank I would look at it the same way, basically hoping my true love would be on the otherside. Stupid, I know.

Because, this is more modernized and, well romantic. Juliet doesn't look like a 13 year old girl, she looks like a woman. This also implements a lot of comic relief, which is entertaining. It's more fast paced to keep you hooked to the action. I personally like this version better also.

The mother and nanny screaming Juliet was not a great change from the original play... and the comic relief has always existed in the play. This version just makes it really obvious to those not use to the old english.

what year were you? back when i was in high school i was in 9th grade in 2000 when saw this and everyone in my class were so happy to see the 1996 version and not the 1968 version. well pretty much everyone in my class saw the 1996 version and were all in 6th grade back then before high school.
