Oh how America's patriotic songs are so great! This is one of the reasons I joined the Marines many years ago. There is nothing more admirable than to observe the great military precision in honor of a fallen hero! As a former Marine, I honor all Presidents and moreso, combat veterans who sacrificed their life at the alter of Freedom. I pray that God reserves a special place for our corageous heroes. Godspeed to all our fallen heroes! #RobertRiteBooks

I visited the Reagan Library in Simi Valley after visiting my late daughters grave at Ivy Lawn Cemetary in Ventura, CA and did the Tour there. My election regrets are that I didn't vote for Ronald Reagan at all. The nation can use more leaders like Ronald Reagan, Harry S. Truman, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Thoedore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower in Washington, DC.

I was 9 years old when Reagan died. I remember watching on TV as they carried him up the Rotunda steps as the band played The Battle Hymn Of The Republic on loop until they reached the top. And being a 9 years old little boy, that felt like an eternity. ;)

I'm a card carrying liberal Democrat... And while I may not agree with all of his policy decisions, as a former President of our country, President Reagan deserved this honor. Just as Bush I, Bush II, Clinton and Obama will. And barring a successful impeachment, so will President Trump. You do not need to like the man to respect the office.

Cry about it, his policies eventually ended the Soviets.
@martinputt64218 жыл бұрын
Kpoole35™- If you think that then you have no grasp of history whatsoever. Gorbachev initiated the end of the Soviet Union by pushing his Glasnost and Perestroika reforms far too fast and pissing off the hardliners who tried to get rid of him in a coup which was halted by Boris Yeltsin an anti-communist the coup was defeated and communism in the Soviet Union was discredited leading to the various Soviet nations breaking away throughout late 1991 to early 1992. In addition the Soviets were falling apart already due to protests over their invasion of Afghanistan which was widely unpopular with most Soviet citizens. So you see it was nothing to do with Reagan at all even if he and idiots like you like to believe it was.

Whenever I hear the Battle Hymn,my thoughts turn to the boy from Kaintuck and the wounded country he had the ordeal of leading in civil war.It was also played at Churchill's funeral-no doubt in remembrance of his US mother and in tribute to the Anglo-American alliance in WW2.

Ronald & Nancy Reagan got married 2 weeks before my late parents got married. Ronald & Nancy Reagan on March 6,1952, my late parents on March 21,1952. My late mother passed away on 6/12/1997, Ronald Reagan on 6/5/2004. I was at my night job when I had the car radio on the news of Ronald Reagan’s death, I was devastated, the same on 11/22/1963 when John F. Kennedy was assasinated. Ronald W.Reagan was the greatest U.S.President of the second half of the 20th.Century the United States ever had. I visited the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on 9/11/2004 after I had visited my daughters grave at Ivy Lawn Cemetary in Ventura,CA. My daughter passed away on 7/17/2004.

I invited him to visit us in our house in Germany during his last visit but he politely reclined having greater agandas. Too bad no he has time and can't come anymore. I liked him very much as president and person, definitely miss his great jokes. One of his best: A man in Russia went to a car sales office and ordered a car. He had to pay upfront and was told the delivery would be on the 1st of October in 10 years. The customer was used to the little delay and asked: Would that be in the morning of afternoon? The sales person asked surprised: Why is that important in 10 years? Customer dryly: Because in the morning we have a plumper scheduled!!!!!
