I miss President Reagan now more than ever. What a class act and statesman.

Brooks Gillespie Reagan should have been impeached for the Iran-Contra scandal, Nixon’s reputation is stained for eternity because of a few wiretaps but Reagan gets a pass. He was anything but a class act, he played the role of the ‘nice old man’ perfectly to hide what he really was like, he was an actor after all.

Gradualism. It's a term that applies here. You don't notice changes that take place over 40 years. I agree that it is important to recognize our state of health and fitness. Becoming fat and complacent is what kills societies, just look at the Roman Empire. And to think, in the 80's we thought we were fat then. Little did we know where we would be in 2022.

It's hard to impress upon my children what Ronald Reagan meant to our country at that point in our history. All I've had are videos like this and some of his speeches to give them a taste of what character, decency, and true leadership looks and sounds like. A president who can win election and re-election by the largest electoral landslide in U.S. history has the unequivocal support of his countrymen from both parties, and has earned it. Reagan certainly did. To have him as my governor for eight years when I was a kid growing up in CA and then to have him as president for eight years had a lasting impression on me and my expectations for other politicians seeking the job -- and I must say that none have measured up to Reagan's example in my lifetime.

Interesting how you see Reagan in two different composures. First as a rancher, relaxed, shoulders forward and entertaining guests. His age becomes apparent during that phase of the video. The other, a world leader, standing tall with good posture, giving instructions to an aide. A awesome video, I just wish the audio revealed what was so funny towards the end.

@@masterbest5867 Yes, the President of the United States. Especially during the Cold War Era in which he was president. I guess you really don't know very much about geopolitical historical contexts? Reagan experienced a 7% GDP during his tenure and was recognized as the leader of the capitalist free part of the world. America had clear hegemony during this time so yes, he was considered a world leader. Before you make stupid comments, educate yourself in what a world leader actually is.
