We miss you President Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan! You will never be forgotten! Thank you for being a president to look up to, who showed decency and respect, someone to admire. Although we may not have always agreed with everything. You were a man who brought this country together. Rest In Peace. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

I was fortunate to meet former President Reagan in an elevator at the office I worked at in Century city in the late 1990s. Even though he was succumbing to a terrible condition, he made eye contact with me and smiled. He carried himself with grace and dignity even during a trying period. A moment I continue to look back upon with great admiration and appreciation.

Truly heartwarming. One might have disagreed with Reagan here and there, but no doubt about a true world leader has left the stage. THIS is how one expects a US president to be. Sometimes you disagree, sometimes you agree, but in any case someone to look up to. Unfortunately the current resident is lightyears away from Reagan (and from George H.W Bush and Clinton as well). It is sad that Lee Greenwood's song is (ab)used by the present WH occupant at his events. I think it is to somehow try to connect to those times back then ... but it just doesn't fit! To me this song will always remind me of those Reagan years, when the US was respected all over the world (admired in many places, feared or even hated in others but in any case respected!) Today the whole world is laughing. No one with at least a half-decent education and a bit of knowledge about the time back then would say the current resident would be a Reagan type. Despite all the differences with political opponents, Reagan never treated others disrespectfully, he never called them made up names (like a teen in junior high - very presidential), he never called media or news "fake", because Reagan knew how to argue and present his opinion - better than anyone else. He wasn't called "great communicator" for nothing! Reagan could unite the people, he did not want to divide them. He conviced the majority of his plans and his mission. No wonder there were the so called "Reagan Democrats" - those who were actually Dems but somehow were convinced of Reagan and voted for him, because the feeling with him was a good one. One felt safe with him stepping up agains the USSR at that time. And today? I cannot even think about how Russia has the current WH resident in its hands. It is sad to see the US cowardly give in to Putin. And yet hoping for better times to come - Love and the very best for America and our American friends from the EU.
