One of my favorite Ronnie Millsap songs. Goes along with Nobody Likes Sad Songs. First one I remember by him was Just In Case in 1975. Lost in the Fifties is a really good song too.

Making another comment from work on my phone . Thanks Don helping me think about the lyrics as kid knew it was sad but never really as sad it was and as a adult yes I been there. As a child I think I had some child hood depression but always loved sad songs or very emotional songs but yeah you can't fail no matter how you look at it with a Ronnie Milsap song. Next time I request a song maybe it will be a upbeat one of his .

@Penny Hedlund I’m glad I could shed light on something for you, Penny! You’ve been on the country music scene your whole life so I have some catching up to do. :-)

"Grown-up lullaby of sadness" --- that nails it! Always loved this song, hadn't heard it in a long long time. And yes, I relate personally o it. What a wonderful song to hear on the channel. Thanks so much Penny for the great request, and thanks Don for your terrific reaction! Have you ever reacted to "Lost in the fifties tonight", another of my Ronnie faves.

3:04 Are you kidding? It WAS a cross-over hit. Like 98% of his output throughout the 70’s and 80’s. He was played in top 40 radio stations. We had no idea he was supposed to be country.

Bought his album as a older teen .I had mostly pop /rock records except for some Dolly an Loretta and that Lynn Anderson 45 .(let my folks take care of most of country song which I still heard alot of ) The first song I remember liking of his was this song. Also I tried the piano for awhile and this was in a easy note piano book and that song was in there never really took off with the piano playing and do not know if someone could have sung with it or not was pretty slow. Thanks Don great reaction. Not sure if as a late teen understood all the lyrics Just loved Ronnie's singing . Will have have request more Ronnie in the future .
