The best Ronnie interview ever. Collin did a masterful job of questioning Ronnie on Ronnie's level, not using cookie cutter questions but using personal knowledge to let "Ronnie be Ronnie" but still expose his inner thoughts. No leading questions for rehearsed answers.

I'll be honest, i wasn't sure if Ronnie would ever win another world title but i'm so happy he has. I remember 10-15 years ago people were talking about how he had underachieved so i'm glad that in the past few years he has still kept his ability to play at a high standard and has started to break hendry's records. Enjoy him whilst you can.

Since the 11/12 season, Ronnie has won a triple crown event EVERY season. I haven't heard someone talk about that. I think it's massive, All the talks is about him not playing in every tournament and then winning some but that has to be recognized in the highest echelon of achviements in snooker. Since when has this been done before? Only Hendry, Davis, maybe Higgins or Selby could've/could do it.

The people of this country don’t what they’ve got, he is the most talented of sportsmen, wee been lucky enough to watch his wonderful skills, and all the media do is say things like how erratic he is. I don’t know if you know, but Ronnies father went to jail for a bank robbery, this was followed a couple of years later by his mother going to jail for whatever. Now these events wouldn’t be worthy of note, except there son was trying to become the best snooker player he could be, now there are so many things that could have derailed Ronnie, and at times he showed a lack of caring about the game, but , he got through all of that and became the player he has become. I’ve got no time for Pugh luck stories, but this has merit.

I worry for the future of snooker once Ronnie is done with the sport. Snooker halls/clubs are closing up and down the country and kids these days don't care about snooker. Video games are taking over kids' interest. Who's going to be the next John Higgins, Mark Williams, Ronnie, Shaun Murphy, Selby, Fu or anyone? Ronnie said it himself that the new generation isn't talented enough. I wouldn't be surprised if snooker dies as a mainstream professional sport within the next 15 years.

Seriously this lad had a really tough child hood, people forget that backstory. Looking after his sister so young with his dad in prison whilst travelling everywhere to tournaments. What he has achieved in the sport especially with mental health issues is extraordinary. He absolutely should be Sports Personality of the year and also should be knighted when he retires. I imagine within the next few years which I think will be ('class of 92'-93 season) - 30 years. Be great if he could get another ranking, maybe UK to get to 8 and maybe 1200 centuries. All I know is it's been an absolute pleasure to watch him in full flow and I am happy he has found peace and solice in his life with Laila. Absolute genius , even Stephen Fry agrees!!
