On the bright side of things, you don’t have to worry about the drama that comes with all the relationships today 39 years old here and single. I understand the loneliness, but sometimes I look at it as a blessing.

This particular song is flawless performed by Ronnie Milsap. Lori - i see your comment below mentioning that you are still single at 59. I am 67 single - the reason is because i was with my blessed angel parents my whole life because they simply were the best loving people that i was blessed to have as my parents - my parents passed in 2020 and early 2021 due to awful medical care where i live in philadelphia, pa ( i reported all the wrongdoings to proper authorities but to this day no action on their part because they don't care either just like the medical personnel that caused my parents' passings ) So, i am single at 67 with no past history ( no baggage as they say ) because i spent my whole life with my parents until their passings so don't feel sad - you are not the only one. I never regretted spending my whole life with my parents because not only were they loving but they were my best friends for sure. Life can be cruel big time so we just do the best we can. The way i see it for myself is this - if i try to look for somebody close to my age that woman is either divorced, separated, never married with kids - so the best is to look for somebody much younger with not much past history but that is a problem because of that woman's parents, friends, relatives saying - who is this guy - he is a cradle robber. I was even on e harmony and 4 women showed an interest but were removed immediately by e harmony due to inappropriate behavior by their comments to me - so obviously these women had low morale ways. So, i basically tell myself - that my remaining years are most likely going to be single. I also tell you something else - there is a young woman that works at a fast food restaurant - this young sweet woman has all the qualities that i would ever dream of - 1. has a really nice way about her - sweet and humble with class ( very good character ) 2. brilliant radiating smile 3. very attractive overall 4. no tattoos or pierced nose or crazy dyed hair color but guess what - she is married - whoever is the guy is the luckiest guy on the planet. If she was not married, i know that i would have to approach her even though she is much younger than me but she is married so the only thing that i told her was that " you really have a nice way about you " When i said that to her she responded with a big thank you and a brilliant smile in an innocent way and i could tell that she really appreciated my compliment to her. At least i made her feel good about herself which she definitely deserves and that is why i complimented her in the appropriate way because she is married. She has the same qualities of the great Olivia Newton-John. The reason why Olivia Newton-John is my favorite singer of all time is because of 2 reasons - 1. best voice and puts her whole soul into every song - my favorite one is " If You Love Me, Let Me Know " - a pure masterpiece ( the 3 minutes and 16 seconds one on you tube and her brilliant performance on the midnight special in 1974 not the one in 1975 ) 2. woman of class - when Olivia was on many talk shows she always acknowledged everyone not just the host - PURE CLASS and SWEET CHARACTER which is the NUMBER 1 MOST IMPORTANT QUALITY OF A WOMAN. Check out the you tube interview by Jay Leno in 1989 - the guest also on that particular show was Beau Bridges - Olivia when speaking always acknowledged Beau while speaking to Jay - just pure class - the perfect woman in my opinion - she had everything - sweet character with class, looks, and best singing voice of all time. Lori - your photo looks good and i can tell that you got the same taste in music like me - the old classic songs not like the junk on the airways nowadays and if we were much younger maybe we would click but it is what it is - i wish you the very best - see there are many people in this world like us so we are not alone. I am surprised that i wanted to tell you all this but i felt compelled to do so. Take care Stay healthy Be safe ! Chester Phila., Pa. ( USA )@@loriwilson13

The decision to record this softly and as almost a musing was brilliant. Milsap's delivery makes the song tragically ironic and infinitely sad - the singer is forced to just watch as his love unravels, powerless to do anything to stop it. Such a memorable performance.

Ronnie is the best. He was on the radio at a great time when you’d hear this song…immediately followed by a song by, like, the Gap Band then a song by AC/DC then the Theme to Hill Street Blues. Musical whiplash…it was beautiful.
