This guy had all odds stacked against him in life. Born near blind at birth, abandoned by his mother. Raised in poverty, had his remaining vision literally slapped out of him by worker at a blind orpanage when a teen. Went on to marry a gorgeous woman, have a family. Oh, and became one of the biggest music icons ever, won 6 grammys, had 35 number 1 hits, a double platinum album, a platinum album, 7 gold albums and was inducted into the country music hall of fame. Some people just don't give a damn about the odds against them I guess.

Married in ‘79, divorced in ‘82, ran into him at a country dance club a few months later. He requested this song and literally pulled me onto the dance floor. He sang every word while staring into my eyes. He walked me back to my table and whispered into my ear “There ain’t no getting over me.” Then he left and the next time I saw him was 16 years later just a few months before the cancer took him. I’ve had the thought every day of my life since that he was right…I’ve never gotten over him. 😢

Brings me back to when I was a young boy in the 1980’s. Man, it sure feels like yesterday guys. I Miss my grandma and Grandpa. My paran Tony. Uncle Roland. My step dad Rockie. God, I lost a lot of people that cared for me and I cared for. Don’t take those you love for granted cause before you know it, it’s all over with. This journey we call life is so so short and fragile. Tell those that you love the you love them every day so they always know. Peace. God bless.

My very first concert in 1982, Ronnie Milsap at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, with my Mother. I remember it like yesterday. An all-time great artist, God given talent. Ronnie represents that any set back in life, can always, always be overcome with hope, joy, peace, and the love God gives us with HIS grace... You are the best, RM!! Thank U, for the brilliant music for my lifetime, and all you have given to the world. With Love...

This record was in a juke box that we got in our Student Lounge when I was in mid school. We would rush in after lunch to be the first to put our quarter in the juke box to hear it everyday. 😊

I sent these lyrics to a lady who busted my heart 38 years ago. Ronnie Milsap is one of the greatest writers of lively heartbreak songs with a good way of expressing your heart when it has hurt so deeply at the moment.

He is! I've met him multiple times and he is such a nice person! My mom was a big Ronnie fan so we got backstage a lot. My mom was asked to help one time with selling merchandise and I met his back up singer Rhonda and got her autograph.

Thanks Mom for the lives you touched on your physical journey. May your spiritual journey be eternally blessed. Love you Mom always. Best wishes to everyone here whose loved ones have passed on to a better place.
