This guy had all odds stacked against him in life. Born near blind at birth, abandoned by his mother. Raised in poverty, had his remaining vision literally slapped out of him by worker at a blind orpanage when a teen. Went on to marry a gorgeous woman, have a family. Oh, and became one of the biggest music icons ever, won 6 grammys, had 35 number 1 hits, a double platinum album, a platinum album, 7 gold albums and was inducted into the country music hall of fame. Some people just don't give a damn about the odds against them I guess.

Brings me back to when I was a young boy in the 1980’s. Man, it sure feels like yesterday guys. I Miss my grandma and Grandpa. My paran Tony. Uncle Roland. My step dad Rockie. God, I lost a lot of people that cared for me and I cared for. Don’t take those you love for granted cause before you know it, it’s all over with. This journey we call life is so so short and fragile. Tell those that you love the you love them every day so they always know. Peace. God bless.

Yes, he is blind and was shunned by his mother, who believed his blindness was punishment from God. He was raised by his grandparents, learned Braille at the age of 6, and lost the last remnant of his sight after a blow from a teacher at school. Nothing could harm that voice though! "There ain't no getting over me" haha, love Ronnie Milsap!!! grew up hearing it played by my parents and it put these thoughts & attitude in ur mind, like yeah... "but darlin, there ain't no getting over me" even if she did get over me, it's only bcuz she thinks it, but it's really not true lol. Great song

Man, I miss the early '80s, when country musicians and country music had such crossover appeal and was just awesome!! Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbit, Juice Newton, Kenny (of course), Alabama, Waylon, Willie, CDB, MTB... and let's not forget Jerry Reed!! Loved this tune so much!!
