Hey its been a while since the last Lets learn DBFZ! So this one is covering an old concept, which I only realized the other day I have never made a video for, so here it is! This Option Select is one of the things that can absolutely help level up your game, so give it a shot!

I remember Tachikawa doing this a lot in season 1, I think it was against Goicihi, not 100% and I remember thinking, how is he blocking so fast. A year later and Roofle is here teaching us all who didn't bother to figure it out. Thanks man, you keep me breathing.

You can input late 1L actually there to tech against dragon rush, dash in 2L/5L, and backdash from enemy after vanish. And you still cover all other options from the 661 tech as well.

Perhaps I should put this into practice next time I play DBFZ. I sometimes like to block right when I'm dashing, so this could apply well. I DO need to practice defending more than executing combos, lol!

I get already get annoyed trying to do backdashes in time post vanish online. This is really strong, and in going to try it alot but I already know I'm going to get hit alot doing so and get salty. Nothing compares to trying to do a wakeup dp and then getting smacked regardless tho.

What about doing it after blocking a super dash? Like GO1 does here for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4vKaqxjlpabjas . And he does it a lot, he microdashes after a superdash, blocks if they hit him (like in this example) and hit them if they just stand or backdash... What does he do? Does he buffer 66 and then goes 4 -> 5L in that sequence really fast?

Ehh I am sure there is enough breakdowns of the patch from people who have actually stuck with SFV this whole time. I basically missed out on 99% of S3 and all of s4.

@@minimonkeymasher8888 Its just mostly like, oh these patch notes effect Lucia, I have no idea what lucia even does in the game, let alone have any possible insight what the changes could mean cause I just wasn't playing when she came out. MK11/DBFZ sure, but I am not in a position of any authority when it comes to SFV right now.

@@rooflemonger Yeah, I feel that whole Lucia thing... I keep on asking people "What are the fundamentals of SFV" and no one ever gives me a straight answer. I just simply don't understand SFV. I haven't had any prior SF experience, so I'm really behind the curve (GGXRD was my first FG). But, SFCE looks really fun, and now that the patch is out I can finally get into it with a fresh start! Have you considered getting back into SFV now that this patch is out?

Its something you gotta get a feel for, I tend to input the first forward just right out of coming out of blockstun.

Option Select is basically a list of things you can do at any given moment, or you’re options. So after blocking a vanish your options vary, you could back dash, reflect, do whats shown in this video, simple continue to block, etc.

Usually in every situation you do one decision and cover up one option of the opponent with it. A option select can cover up more than one options without deciding. U just need to put in the motion. Some option selects are really good but some others {in fighting games in general} are pretty braindead since u don't think about what u do anymore. A option select which i have found recently, for example, is: {its specifically good for dbs broly} 2L 9LL ... So, if u do that on an waking up opponent, u catch him with 2L {doesn't matter if he stands or jumps} and if he blocks, u are just doing the regular 2L, 5LL but if he jumps and doesn't block then my character automatically does jump cancel and jLL autocomco after 2L. Thats pretty awesome since i never need to try to react anymore if i hit the airborne opponent with 2L since the 2L 9LL covers both options. An option select :} That's btw universal usable with every character and not just on knockdown. However, hope i could help
