Btw rooflemonger, I don't know if you now this about tien but tien has a natural push back 2nd block used like hits and janembas counter. That goofy animation where he prays even if chaotizu is sacrificed, is a guard push back. Like when timed right as in when you time your opponent swing makes them push back. You can use tien like janemba and hit. I studied it after a recorded match and tested it in training ground. Tien isn't so useless even when chaotizu is dead lmao.

Ive been trying out Cell for a bit and im really liking his flexible combo structure and his Tod capability. Im still trying to find my mid. My points so far: Cell, 21, 18, BlueKu, Base Vegeta Mids: Bardock, Yamcha, Jiren Anchor: Z Broly and possibly Cooler (his buttons will take some adjustments).

I love how Season 3 gave more potential for characters to be able to handle more than one role! That being said, I still love running my team in the order of OG Broly(B)/Nappa(A)/Super Broly(C), even though season 3's changes make OG Broly a more practical Mid than Nappa. I know you said ALWAYS put Nappa in front, but I'm still comfortable with OG Broly as my point, as I love how Nappa's A assist helps him with his lariat on hit AND block, Extends his basic BnBs, works after his j.H dunk, and also let's him get the delayed lv3! Since Broly has the better neutral, I can have him put opponents in the corner and leave the corner pressure to Nappa if he needs to heal, saving Nappa the trouble of getting that advantage he wants. ^^ Of course, Nappa strongly benefits from OG Broly's B assist for getting the much needed sliding knockdowns midscreen, and corner saibamen combos, or adding more pressure to his blockstrings. Anyway, sorry for the long wall of text! I just love sharing synergistic ideas I've come up with for the team I have created! ^^'

@@blazaybla22 It's really all up to you. I personally like DBS Broly's C assist because it's a beam, so it could help in neutral while also doing a lot for the characters in combos as long as it's not on cooldown. Of course, the downside is C assist cooldown are super lengthy.

@@Evolving-Minds I'm not a ranked player of any sort I mostly play for myself and it gives me plenty of enjoyment. My Dragonball/fighterz craze will probably die out in a couple of weeks I've never been able to keep passion on one thing for too long. But that's ok with me since I regain that interest later on at least once a year. Some things get permanently removed from my interest like you sort of mentioned, stuff that doesn't really do something for you(that may include gaming later on although I don't see it currently) like depressive and overly edgy jokes for the sake of weirdness. So I'll keep playing this game in my spare time, laugh at the memes and such since it does put a smile on my face. It's great to hear that you are taking the right steps for yourself I might do the same since growing up creates that tension between your survival/serving your family, various vices and morals that you need to resolve before any of it breaks. I'm doing good at resolving most of it but life always shows you how stupid you are currently every time you think you're on top. I apologise for the long text, rambling and the wait since I wasn't ready to answer your question at the time.

I kinda play Z Broly as point and anchor. I play Z Broly/Piccolo/DBS Broly and ideally I use Z Broly to win neutral and build enough meter to switch to DBS Broly asap to get his lvl 3 buff. I love Piccolo's A assist with both Brolys but Piccolo and DBS Broly both use a lot of meter. I'm thinking of replacing Piccolo with Bardock, base Goku, or Cooler in that order. Any ideas or advice? Should I change Piccolo to point? Piccolo was my main since day 1 but I HAVE to play Broly/Broly lol

When you mention about how your point character should be your main, I would kind of disagree. I don’t think your main strongest character has to fall into a specific slot. I kind of have two teams I run but both function the same way. First 2 characters are trying to take down as much damage as possible and not spend too much bar. Then Gogeta my main comes in as anchor to finish the fight. This is by no means necessary but I always try to kill my other 2 character to get limit break before Gogeta comes out. Gogeta should be coming out on full health and as much bar as possible. This is defiantly my preferred strat and it’s not for everyone. I’ve labbEd Gogeta so much cause I love playing him, and I’ve got to the point I’m comfortable with him that I don’t need assists.

This is nice, but i really disagree with "Point, Mid, Anchor" philosophy for this game. It's so easy to get your team jumbled up especially if you are trying to one touch death a character. This isn't like Marvel where you can kill a character with one long combo. DBFZ requires multiple characters to kill one character even with damage buffs because most of the time you are DHC'ing. This game benefits from a KOF-esque team building philosophy where your team composition should be centered around meter building. You should have a character on your team that doesn't need meter, and if you have a character that needs meter, then they shouldn't be point. Then you can tailor your team's composition, neutral strategy, and mix-up. I don't think this current philosophy takes in the fact that you will probably be switching characters in the middle of the match to preserve them or combo. Everyone one the team is going to be point in the match, but as long you have the resources to get your mix-up rolling, then you should be fine. However, this might not be a beginner concept.

I'd disagree in some things. I've watched a ton of pro content, world tournaments in particular and they never preserve their character for comeback. Meaning they use their point as a point, only switch before death so they can used still as an assist. The Ki thing you said makes sense! Though a character that needs less Ki sounds like the anchor? I think it's more important that a point is more supplemented by supports then one that preserves Ki because at the end of the day they should be carrying the most and I believe assist DMG in any form it comes will serve the best. Perhaps Ki management is more of a player responsibility?

A lockdown assist can help his pressure, an assist with low hitstun like trunks change the future can give him dirty command grab mixups, and any assist that can extend his midscreen combos

Its hard for him to open up opponents on his own(not much mixups) so hes better on point( 2 assists to help), but honestly try it and play what you like, its better to play what you like than what is optimal, you might end up getting burnt out

Its ok to do whatever you want! Cell is a fine anchor imo, and say someone like Ginyu who would really prefer to be a point character, its not like his buttons get any smaller or he can call any less ginyu force as an anchor, its just he has less opportunities to really go berserk with them.

great guide! You're a little wrong about Nappa though. Since his A assist is dummy good now and has a lot of character-specific synergy, he can be run mid behind a point character who really likes his assist and ahead of an anchor whose assist can do everything nappa needs, like a beam or yamcha.

So I’ve been struggling with my A21 Team, (it’s A21, placeholder, Vegito). Vegito is my best character to date which is why I use him and have him last. A21 can catch strays and convert combos off of nothing. She’s also my main. I’ve been using the A assist for 21’s combos (Vegito’s to be specific) but I’ve been considering a beam C assist (A.Gohan or Trunks or even GT Goku) but I can’t find a good person. well if you running vegito id probably put him up to mid, as hes a character that benefits well from assists helping with his block pressure. That said for the assist kinda go with your heart? Most assists play pretty well with 21's combo structure and if you looking for a beam assist C beams are mostly for if you plan off neutral conversions or got REALLY big combos planned. Its a lot harder to "go wrong" now with an anchor.

La Prizmo I play A21 , DBS Broly, GT Goku. Don’t use a C assist beam. If you’re going to use a beam assist, just use a regular beam assist. But GT Goku A assist also compliments 21 well, and can give you DR in combos.

rooflemonger Also, feel free to run a21 in any position. She’s a very unique character and can play point, mid, or even anchor. So I’d say for your team, try Vegito, a21, and either a beam assist like Trunks B assist, or GT Goku.

La Prizmo It’s up to you, there’s plenty of great anchors. You could try Yamcha B assist, Trunks A or B assist, SSJ Goku A assist, a lot of players are dropping him rn but Matoi, the best android 21 player, still plays her and SSJ Goku
