Here we are with the Choose a Main video for Tekken 8! We have lots of characters to look at in this newest installment of the franchise and this video is here to give you an understanding of what every character is about so you can figure out which character you want to main! Timestamps are provided for everyone so feel free to skip ahead wherever you want in the video(although be a pal and leave a like!) and other than that, enjoy! Also, apologies in a few sections where game audio is slightly delayed, thats cause my capture card was melting from so many hours of use straight lol

hey, HELLO AND WELCOME, its the thing! I basically didn't sleep since launch other than 1 little nap but we got the video live now so hope you enjoy it! This is the single longest video I have ever made, and im known for long videos lol. Really wish I coulda brought it to you on launch day but Namco basically stonewalled and ignored me on my countless attempts to reach out to them for an early copy like any reviewer/influencer would get, so the process got delayed. Thankfully for future major fighting game releases every other company is already my friend so that shouldn't be an issue. Anyways enjoy, and friggin hit that like button ok!!!!!!

I would recommend still looking up specific char guides from other ppl after watching this vid as there are some things he did not know/got slightly wrong. E.g. at the start he mentioned Jin f4 on counter hit does not give a 'long stun', whereas in fact its even easier to get a full combo off that move than before

Honestly, I’m actually very disappointed with the character customization. Me and my girlfriend were playing soul calibur lately, and had fun just creating characters, so Tekken’s was a little underwhelming. Especially since you can’t put patterns or stickers on clothes

@@phabiorulesi guess, but this game is leagues above soul calibur in every other facet so i can tolerate the lackluster character customization. in the end, the customization is still better than every AAA fighter besides soul calibur, so coming from street fighter it’s a blessing.

I am liking Jun's style. My first Tekken was T7, so this is my first time playing her and she has quite a few moves that are similar to Aoi from VF, which used to be my main 3D fighting game. I guess I just like Aikijujutsu stuff. It looks elegant and feels nice to play.

I feel like Alisa is so much more than just chainsaws. She's become my accidental main due to how unpredictable her attacks can be. Between the long pokes, range attacks, head moves (which are amazing), and her ability to activate her chainsaws in a move set (also as a heat engager), I've been able to keep people guessing. And when the chainsaws are out, the pressure can really build. But I'm also just a casual player, so I'm sure there are better characters. Thanks for this informative video!

I was finally able to narrow down who I want to use in this game. At first I was just gonna go with Hwaorang because he was my main in my first and only tekken game (tekken tag tournament) but when I first booted up Tekken 8 I was greeted with many characters I like. Including Hwaorang, I love Reina, Claudio, Lili, Leo, Victor and Leroy. That’s 7 whole characters and I had no clue who I wanted to use. But after playing for a bit I think I’m gonna go with Lili and Hwaorang cause I realized I just like them both more then the others and I can’t learn all those characters together or it’ll just stunt my growth. The game is fun but super frustrating to learn, especially since I’ve never been good at fighting games. But I’m gonna put a genuine effort into this! Wish me luck!

I've been very hesitant to look at unfamiliar tekken content creators, just because my recommended feed is so obscenely full of tekken stuff already. But I left a comment on a video about choosing mains about how there's very rarely any videos breaking down general game plans of each character. Lifelong fighting game fan here who has never been a Tekken fan - I can not tell you how valuable this video has been for me!! At first I kinda wanted to just shrug and give up on Tekken since I am not familiar with its systems AT ALL. But this is a FANTASTIC high level overview and definitely gave me a great idea of who to pick up for my first main!! I have yet to search your channel yet so this might exist but the only thing I really need other than this is just a high level overview on how Tekken works on a wholistic mechanics level. Again, suuuper familiar with flighting games but I am fidning Tekke is kind of it's own thing. And as much as that is awesome, it's also super overwhelming! Thanks again for the amazing video!
