I think medo would lose but maybe with a little preparation and some tactics he could win medo would have to do puzzles and know a lot of opening theory and good endgame skills

What are the chances that I get a rook vs knight again? Small. But better safe than sorry! Best video explanation on KZbin. Gracias!

10:40 after the king goes back to b8 and the rook pins it, can’t the king to to a8 with ideas of stalemate when the rook captures the knight?
@hgjgjfjfmd

After king a8, the rook can move to b2, forcing the king to move to b8 again.
@VaSavoir2007
@VaSavoir2007 2 жыл бұрын
You sate near the ned that it doesn't matter which is in which position out of the two. I take this to mean that if the king is on b7, b2, g2 or g7, and the knight on a8, a1, h1 and h8 respectively that the position is lost. This conforms to my intuition but I wonder whether there are any further qualifications to be made. These positions actually seem even worse for the side with the knight than those with it on the square one square diagonally away from the corner square, which latter case is what is what I am dressing here.

At 2:38 if you want the game to end asap, you can play the smart move ...Kg1! instead of ...Kf1 (which is enough to draw but takes more effort). After ...Kg1! white can of course check Ra1+ but after ...Kh2 .Ra2 Kh1 it's ½-½. More notably, white could play Kf3, Kg3 or Kh3 and win the pawn. But against any of those black has the clever response Kh1, and there is nothing better for white than play Rxg2 STALEMATE. Obviously, if we move everything towards the center, this trick no longer works and you MUST promote to knight and draw like Stjepan showed.

After your Kg1 move, there's Kg3 for white, and now, you totally lost instead of having a draw.
@rizka7945
@rizka7945 4 жыл бұрын
@@kumabrostambayan6436 Nope. As I said, after Kg3 black has Kh1!, threatening to promote the pawn. The only way white can stop it is to take the pawn, resulting in a stalemate.
@rizka7945
@rizka7945 4 жыл бұрын
@@jidionclips_fan5720 No it can't. After Kg3 and black's Kh1, Ra1+ by white isn't checkmate because black blocks the check by promoting the pawn on b1. Folks just believe me, Kg1! is a simple draw. I know what I'm talking about here and anyone who disagrees clearly doesn't.
@rizka7945
@rizka7945 4 жыл бұрын
@@jidionclips_fan5720 Nonsense. Either Kf2 or Kh2 draws. You clearly aren't calculating anything, just guessing. Poorly.

What a beautiful dog, and man I have one question, hypothetically if you don't become a grandmaster in the next 6-5 years, will you still be satisfied with any other chess title.
@HangingPawns
@HangingPawns 4 жыл бұрын
I will never stop until I achieve the goal I set. I think it's the amount of work and the number of games played (experience) and analyzed properly. Not much more. So the only way for me not to achieve the title would be to not work properly or hard enough. And that would be my deliberate choice. In which case I couldn't be dissatisfied. I try not to look that far ahead for now. Yearly and monthly goals are overwhelming enough. One step at a time.
