i think the three things i like the most about her are 1) her voice, its so calm and soothing 2) the way she intercuts old footage in her videos, its so visually interesting; and 3) how down to earth she is, i never feel like she's putting on an act or anything, which is so rare on youtube nowadays. Anyway, I love your channel! ❤️

Once you get past two, they do become more prominent in the house. When you have two, it's easy to quickly rustle up some food alongside your own! When we had six, it was a whole task feeding them all at the same time. I don't regret having this many, they make our lives so wonderful and they're so happy here -

I think your bedroom is awesome and I like your no work in bed policy, something I should have implemented whilst at University. Just a more random question, if you have your parents room, and your room is now an art room, where do your parents stay? I remember back home when my family moved house we had the policy of parents get the big room, oldest child gets the middle bedroom (me) and my wee brother got the small room. He was extremely happy when I moved to uni and we did a room swap :)

I just re-read what I wrote next and I'm sorry it's an essay haha! :D. - When we moved in here in the 90's, we didn't have the loft floor.... so this was the biggest room in the house :D. Around 2003, my parents had an extension built - we had an entire floor built into the loft (including a bathroom). It was originally supposed to be for my Grandparents so they could move in. Grandma was suffering severely with alheizmers - however she died as it was completed. So it changed purpose. Parents didn't want to sleep there for obvious reasons, so it was turned into a playroom for many many years :D. As I moved out in 2011 and my brother took over my old room - the rooms all changed meaning. Grandad ended up moving in anyway - so he went in here (the room I'm now in) and parents moved into the loft. Then he moved out again when he bought his new house... I moved in the room a few months later :D. Parents have stayed in the loft ever since. Technically, that's the biggest space in the house. :D

Haha it's fine - was just genuinely interested if the size by age rule followed suit elsewhere :D Glad you have a nice space in your home you can call your own, with everything having its own place :) And that wardrobe space, gahhhh :P xxx

I know the three rooms in the house (other than this one) are the same size, just different shapes... and my parents built in three more doors to the waldrobe in the art room for storage. So technically all the kids had the same size rooms growing up

You have so much stuff! Which is really cool - it reminds me of my best friend's room, and my mom-in-law's. :)Only yours is better organized, I feel, eheh. It looks so different from mine - my home is very bare at the moment. I generally get rid of stuff really soon (too soon, probably) because seeing stuff I don't use often and my own clutter somehow makes me feel really anxious. You room looks so cozy! I love your sunny bathroom and your desk area, and your bed looks really comfy! also I'll try to find that rosé, ahh. I'm glad you were feeling good when you recorded this! Hope you have a lot more good days like this soon!

As I watch this, one of my cats has crept beneath the Christmas tree in my room (the dream is for seasonally decorated trees all over the house one day). Do you find that your cats try to get in the shower? Our other one is just enamored with running water. He tries to get in the tub shower, the standing shower, the kitchen sink... My parents had never heard of that before we adopted them, but I don't think it's that uncommon.

I envy how neat and tidy your room is, I like to be organized, and when I lived with my mam in Wales I made sure my room was tidy, almost OCD !!. I like your DVD collection, some classic films there, I see you have the movie Ghost, that made me cry, and I'm a 48 year old father of two, a typical welsh man who has watched sport. I have quite a selection of DVD's, ranging from classic movies from the 60's, 70's and 80's, plus a quite a few classic TV series, such as Doctor Who.

Really happy to see you up and about. It's great to see your back is better. I have a question for you beckie and for others that have trich. When you are pulling, if you notice you are doing it, ca you stop or is it like a very strong urge you can't control even if you are conciously aware of it in that moment? Hope me asking this doesn't bother anyone, I am asking because I have a few ideas that hopefully ca help people with this problem (in certain situations).

Beckie Jane Brown As for your mooncup, try folding it into the 'tulip' method after putting it under the tap, on the sorta medium or maybe heavy flow day. Instead of putting it on sitting on a straddle on the toilet, try putting a towel down on your bed and try inserting it after relaxing yourself there (the lavender scent might be more of benefit!). When I had a period and felt I needed to use a tampon, I had to use that method but for a mini tampon in an applicator! The other sizes and even a mini tampon without the applicator hurt. Having a tiny tampon in on a heavy flow (and my flow is on the heavier side when I've compared it with other females, so me thinking my flow was light but obviously varied the amount of light flow during the month was totally incorrect!). Long story short, it turns out I'm super sensitive to anything in that part of me, to the point that any exams such as the smear tests are done with a more gentle speculum designed for teenagers and not opened very far, and this is after a lot of me doing relaxation exercises and techniques... and I oddly and rarely even hurt for a couple of days afterwards. Although, it hurt for almost an entire week when a doctor used a metal one... So I only trust one nurse to do it, and I only have exams done if I am summoned for one! Maybe that could be your issue too. I am not diagnosed with this but I consulted Dr Google and they spoke about something about vaginismus (vaginal pain, usually during anything being inserted into the vagina).

The amount of STUFF you own! I've been moving a lot lately (7 apartments in 3 different countries in the past 3 years) and I'm absolutely traumatized by having anything more than the bare minimum. Watching all your drawers and decorations made my belly feel weird :D I guess we are on the opposite ends of the hoarding spectrum, which is fine as long as the two of us are fine with our choices. :)
@beckiejbrown
@beckiejbrown 7 жыл бұрын
The sad thing is, this room is nothing compared to what I do actually own... so I'm quite... off-put by all the hoarding comments (nothing against your comment, just a general feedback reaction I'm processing) because for me, this is barely anything. I think in addition to it being a bedroom, it's my living space. I don't have a flat, so all the little things like canvas bags and library - would be in different rooms... even the wine. I'm cramming a life into a bedroom. I can't live as a minimalist and never have been able to. I've hoarded for a long as I can remember. I've rarely thrown anything away - and when I have, it's caused mental distress later on. Like I gave away a camera I thought was worthless in 2014.... and hoarded the second. Now I've started twitch, I need webcams - my brain is struggling to deal with the ideal that I didn't hoard something - that's turned out to be something I need. My brain works quite differently with possesions. I did a documentary on my hoarding in 2014, though the more time that's passing and more I reveal of this part of my life, the more scared I'm becoming. People (in general) are not kind when they know more. This is a ramble.... more in response to lots of comments as I said.... ----- I've no idea how minimalists live - surely you must constantly be buying things you need that you threw away? Or not wearing things you buy to make room for new things? Sorry if these are rude to ask!
@miaannravel7539
@miaannravel7539 7 жыл бұрын
Not rude at all. I am not an extreme minimalist (like some people whose yt channels and blogs revolve around it), but I do think that I own considerably less than other 24-year-olds that I know. I own one medium-sized suitcase of clothes, and that's including clothes for all seasons. When I used to live with my parents, I had a lot of space of storing clothes, so naturally I did. However, when I first moved away, I took only my favorite items with me, and realized that I can function quite well with that small number of choices. The only thing you could say I "hoard" are scarves, because a) they take up so little space and b) the same outfit looks completely different with different scarves. But it's not just clothes. I own 2 mugs, 2 soup plates, and 2 big, flat plates (I'm not sure what these are called in English). At first I thought it would be quite limiting in regards to the types of food I can eat, but I realized that I can, for example, eat cereal out of a mug or a soup plate (depending on how hungry I am). And I guess this is the answer to your question about being afraid that you will throw something away and find yourself needing it in the future. It does happen from time to time, but you just have to find a work-around. It usually turns out to be a more creative solution and quite often a cheaper one. But yes, sometimes your only option is to buy a thing you need. It happened to me twice in three years :D I don't really see myself living like this later in life, especially if I get myself some children :) But I feel that it's a perfect lifestyle for me in my mid-twenties. My point is that just because you live in a certain way now doesn't mean that will be your lifestyle forever. Humans are super-adaptable, and that's one of the greatest things about us :)

Beckie Jane Brown When mental health is kicking your ass (or pain meds), and you know you should/need to do a whole list and there's pressure from being behind with lots of difficult things, but you just can't make your body do it. Like you are trapped in a non cooperative puppet or something! How do you get your oomph back and/or get stuff done? Depression has been kicking my ass (and whilst I usually get bad during summer it is the worst that it ever has been AT ALL, and I am so behind and stressed, and stressed because I'm behind do much!). Any advice? I am looking for anything (other than tell a mental health professional or GP, I did both and it didn't help. The medication I am currently on is the only one that I've found even worked a tiny bit and I can't risk not having any medication. I've been limiting my other medications so I can try and get out of bed, but my other chronic conditions make me liable to black out for hours or physically collapse, so those are not too helpful. Also telling me to just not do anything really isn't productive given the amount I need to do to help get me caught up to the beginning of June!). Arrgh!

Watching your videos makes me believe that I can maybe manage my mental health and my life may not turn out so bad. Thank you. I'm aware that you do not show everything on camera, and there are low moments, but nonetheless you give me hope.

Nice video, just the kind of stuff I'd expect to find in a modern woman's room. That dress looks fab on you, by the way.. Will I be the only bloke to comment on your great dress?

liv everett Alright, maybe it's not typical, but it's a little unfair to say she's "a child play-acting at being a woman", she's doing what works for her.

Liv Everett: It's probably weird for you for two reasons: 1) because it's very similar to my teen bedrooms - therefore suggesting I'm the same person as I was when I was a child. Perhaps the only way to shake that is to paint everything blue and ban my use of posters - you'll be less connected with the past then. 2) because you're seeing a grown woman living with her parents. This is not unusual in our current climate and culture, despite the shame people put on us. Young people are staying with their parents (or stuck in one bedrooms in eight-people house shares) into their 30's now, due to being unable to afford their own housing in the work based areas and for other reasons. Lots of KZbinrs that are popular at the moment - have their own apartments (rented or bought), exciting lives and some hide the fact they live with their parents at all (I know two KZbinrs who are lying to their audience).... Compared to them? At my age? I'm odd apparently.... even though struggling with employment and leaving home is quite normal, abeit distressing. --- To be honest though, I'm more animated here due to being home alone for the first time in months and able to be myself for a change - and I'm really happy - HOWEVER - I'm still LESS animated than I've been in my past. If you think this version of myself is playacting or childsplay - then you may wish to look back.

liv everett It may be weird to you, but you should accept the fact that some families have a different dynamic than yours and that in many countries and cultures, it is the norm for young adults (especially females) to remain in the family home until they are married. I'm in my mid 20s and share an apartment with my mom, and though most assume or ask why I'm still living at home, they don't realize that I'm actually the one supporting her due to bad credit and low income. Situations are not always as they appear. As long as adult children are contributing to the household in some way and the parents don't mind them being there, I don't understand why it's anyone's business.

Super side note: but your dress reminds me of a coloring page and I reaaallly want to color it in! XD Oh! "All the bright places" I think I've seen that in the store, and I think, if I'm remembering correctly, it's something I might wanna get even if the subject matter is potentially triggering (hence why I haven't got it yet :P). "The Last Star" looks interesting, too! Whoa, the flute part brought me back to 2006 when I used to play the flute for band. O_o Damn. That box of pads is everything I need in life. XD
