Roost 200cc Twin on the dyno

The first real dyno pulls where made on the engine
after adjusting the carbs a bit and making some testruns
They had some troubles with getting all the power to the wheel ...
Some cvt parts broke and they had to make do with an old transmission for now , the next time they will test a brand new transmission ( polini vario and ceramic front pulley + .2 polini belt + 2fast pulleys + polini 3g clutch ) this should be better ...

Looks like there is no air going through your variomatic housing, bruh. There is no fan. Be careful... Maybe thats why all the stuff broke (clutch, pulley etc.) Nice work, tho.

They can try polini 3g clutch or doppler its good too, also im pretty sure polini vario and pulley are going to handle it, polini is high quality.

I'm surprised that you are not having issues with flooding due to the steep angle that those Lectrons are mounted at. I run one of these carbs on a KTM 300, they are not bad as carbs go.

What are your thoughts about polini ceramic speed drive evolution 3 pulleys? Probably the ceramic coating could help the belt from not losing grip under such an amount of hp

We never hade any problems with the belt slipping and causing heat, we just burned the reveno clutch, i figure a heavy duty one with more discs would be a nice evolution. This with my heavy roller in dyno, it is heavier to accelerate then the complete chassi is later when testing on the strip. And we will try Polini Ceramic, LMR is a bad design, there is no splines in the pulley.

What you are seeing is called carb/fuel standoff and is a result of ( in this case ) too much port timing in a 4 stroke it would be the cam timing.

I was thinking that, looks like it's got reed valves on the intake so it shouldn't do that. You only get that with no reeds or rotary valves but the carbs aren't on the ends of the crank, feel free to correct me, I know a bit about 2 strokes having owned a few but it doesn't mean I'm right 😀.

@@zipstunter lol. "sounds" and "is" are 2 very different things. my old CR250 sounded a lot more boss at 10.5k than your 12 or 13k 200cc here. I'm guessing the peak is really narrow the way it climbed. but props for the time I know you have in it. it still aint close to 40hp tho but I'd give it 25-30

over here in europe dr pulley is not really know , and nobody uses it ... its maybe worth a try ... i dunno , but i think a normal polini clutch will be able to handle it , many twins use just the normal style clutches , the new problem they have now is that they spin the outgoing axle in the gears , or break the gears ... its just so much power
