He's so cute!!! Kevin you really painted in the feathers and various hues so great....he looks realistic...I love how you did the feathers and choice of hues as well...the background even is rendered great...the hinges...wood...illusion of wire...one beautiful proud looking rooster there... Wish you'd consider a DVD of this...with a sketch...please give it s thought....

Kevin I have a question, I watch alot of paiting videos and alot of people tint their canvas before starting with a brownish color or whatever goes with the painting, I've noticed you don't, so I wanted to know what's the point in tinting a canvas ? what's it for? thanks in advance (if someone else knows feel free to reply :) )

tinting a canvas gives you a medium value to work on. This way when you start painting and you put on lighter colors you see how in the end the lighter colors are relative to the rest of the painting. While if you'd start on a white canvas even light values might seem dark. I'm guessing kevin paints on a white canvas because he paints very tinly and a pretone would shine through, while people who pretone their paintings paint more thick and opaque
