My adult kids have said "please don't look at the messy house" when we go to see them. I have always said...I didn't come to look at your house, I came to see you! The first time I said that to my very overwhelmed daughter in law, I could almost see the stress leave her face. Then I realized that when they have been to our home, it was after I had cleaned for the gatherings and family events...so I started inviting the kids over when the house is a mess, the dishes haven't been washed and the laundry is still needing to be folded or washed. Sometimes imperfection is the most perfect gift you can give someone. Much easier to relate to imperfect people then perfect ones.

Very wise. After I moved out own my own and had my sister over (first relative ever) for dinner I heard from my mom after that about not vacuuming. I was 19 and didn’t have a vacuum yet! Totally scarred me. No member of my family saw a placed I lived until my 30th birthday and that was only after I spent days cleaning and scrubbing for a 5 minute visit.

The bird may see it's reflection in the window. When nesting, they become more protective of their eggs or young; attacking other birds/in this case the reflection, that are too close to the nest. Try placing something in the window.
@HiveCreekFarm
@HiveCreekFarm Жыл бұрын
The bluebird sees a reflection of themself in your window and are trying to chase off the other bird. Cardinals do that a ton around here. I’m guessing the angle of the sun is just right all of a sudden. Drawing soap lines on your outside of the window or putting tape or stickers on the outside windows helps. Eventually the sun angles shift and they settle down!
@chelseaapicella4412
@chelseaapicella4412 Жыл бұрын
This! Two weeks a year, opposite times of year when the sun hit just right, we'd constantly have birds fly into one of our windows. We put decals up and that seemed to help a lot!

You can also make a grid pattern with a wide yellow highlighter marker. It doesn't affect your view out the window but they can perceive it from the outside.

My new favorite cleaner is citrus vinegar that i make myself. I stuff a jar with citrus peels and cover it with vinegar and let it sit on a cupboard for 2-4 weeks. Strain out peels- voila! You can add 1/2 water to it if you want too

And the vinegars aroma is so.much more pleasant to me than bleach! Bleach fumes burn my eyes. I also don't like it on my hands, if it happens to splash. Vinegar doesn't bother my hands in the off chance I get some on my them.

Once in Phoenix we had a big window in our family room. There was a roadrunner that kept trying to get himself in the window. He would go feet first so not flying in. We finally took those windows out as it got to hot in there. Phoenix you know. But that whole breeding season he thought himself beautiful, lol.

The bird sees it’s reflection in your window and it attacking the window to protect the nest. Cover your window and the bird will stop. If you have other windows close by the bird may start attacking that window as well. Once the birds leave the nest it will stop. We have that problem here (southwestern PA)with robins.

My house has suffered over the last few months due to building our garden and growing everything from seeds.....but all of my friends that come over don't care if I have a table of mail, baskets of unfolded laundry, or a dirty kitchen. They are just happy to get together and have a place to play games. I had to finally use some Neem oil because our potato plants were being destroyed and I feared they would begin going after my other baby/teenage plants. I still have so many seeds and baby plants to put put in tho. I just hope to have a semi- successful first growing season in our new raised beds. I'm being realistic but positively hopeful. Jess.....
