Check his channel. He has interviews with multiple priests, some of whom are Greek Orthodox. Surprisingly, I don't think he has any monastic interviews.

a Christian, is a living Blessing among us. let us ask God the Creator that our generation of false Christians be decimated, and that true Christians may be born from us, thanks to the blessed Conversion. having Christians, we will not lack Priests, consecrated persons, good husbands and better Families, we will not lack Peace. In the Holy Rosary is our Victory, over eternal death: the proud fall. a decision is within reach: start praying it. let us make this brief test a much better place to travel, so that we remember that we can still deserve to be with the Good Shepherd, God Christ, for eternity.

Purgatory is an act of mercy for people unprepared to enter heaven. It is really what made me after reading the Catechism published during the John Paul II papacy, enter the Catholic church. I had loved ones, my son and his father, who both died of suicide who I know were not prepared for heaven as well as my mother who did not have faith for a variety of reasons, so yes I pray for them. Protestantism did not have anything for them, because unless you are Christian, you go to hell. I did consider strongly the Orthodox church but it felt so foreign and reading about tollhouses just sounded silly. I did like it was so true to it's early church in liturgy, but again too narrow a path to give hope to the hopeless. Also, btw, there is a difference between worship of God and the hyperdulia, special respect and love given to Mary. I am not one to deify Mary, and the truth is I neither want to make her equal to God, but I also know she is special and do not want to denigrate in any way her active participation in the plan of God to bring salvation to the world through a human being. She was made perfect ie Immaculate (born without original sin) so that our Savior would maintain His perfection when He became Man, fully God and fully Man and dwelt among us

i think we should cut things off to we should not be venerating post schism "saints" nor reading their teachings. allowing their teachings to be in book stores at your churches and the like could be a recipe for repeating history or just disaster. i don't believe that this is the orthodox way. scholasitic "rationalists" are against the phronema of the church.

Every time I listen to a Western Rite priest, no matter how well intentioned they are, it reaffirms my skepticism of the Western Rite.

@@ryrocks9487 He seems genuine, I wouldn't doubt that. But so much of his attitude seems like he hasn't fully embraced Orthodoxy. So much of what he says makes me suspicious that he is still attached to western ideas and the western churches. Encouraging parishioners to venerate St Thomas Aquinas if they think it "aids their salvation?" Uuuh... What? Sounds like something you'd hear from a Progressive Protestant.

Having known Father John for 14 years and having been one of his students in the high school that he mentions…..I can guarantee you he is. Looking back it was his world’s religion course that slowly put me down on the path of the orthodox faith.

Are you as skeptical of Greek or Russian or Romanian churches that practice their own rites? Are you skeptical of ancient Orthodox churches that celebrated using the liturgies of St Gregory or St James or St Basil?

What is a Western rite? does he belong to a recognised Orthodox patriarchate? eg Russian, Alexandria, Constantinople, Antiochean, Jerusalem...? if not then then I can't see why he calls himself Orthodox. Is he in communion with these Patriarchates?

The man who owns this channel is honest and doing good work presenting information to all to hear and aid in their own investigations. So many wonderful videos of real Orthodox priests such as Fr Josiah and Fr Zechariah have touched many hearts. Information can only help people, and the light of the truth burns away all falsehoods anyway. Have grace for the channel owner, brother! And don't let this harm your soul.
