Love my Octomoves rope. I use Tabata APP to rotate my different movements into a 13 minute Hiit program. At the end I do a sprint session of overhand flat out figure 8 until failure. The next day I do underhand. I journal all my workouts to see progress.

Great video; very informative, thanks. Question: The rope wholesaler website offers a LOT of different types of rope. I have no idea which kind is correct for a flow rope. What kind did you use to make yours? Thanks again 🙏

I’ve made a few different ones. Poly braid is what’s commonly used, but I also like using hemp 👍

Thanks Luke this was really helpful the way you break it down is excellent. Any tips of how to stop hitting the back of the legs on the dragon roll?
@LukeJonesMOVE2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I find it useful to keep going back to the broken down version of the movement, really focussing on the back portion where you drag the rope acros the floor behind you. Also ensuring you're getting that rotation through the torso can help with the clearance. Slow and steady, keep practicing and it will click :)
@Bcun202 жыл бұрын
@@LukeJonesMOVE Thanks Luke, it now clicks and once you feel the movement it just seems to work and 'feel' good.

Hi Luke. Fabulous stuff. And your a really likeable presenter. I have a question - I'm only 5ft2" - which of the Octomove robes would you recommend so as I dont have to tie dozens of knots to get it right for me? thanks - will keep your videos forefront of mind.
@LukeJonesMOVE2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I believe they're all about the same length but differ in weight. A few extra knots on each side near the handles though should hopefully suffice to shorten the rope! It's surprising how much length a knot takes off! :)

Thank you for your great explanation of the basic rolls - I bought a rope and course from Octomoves and found that your explanation clicked a little better than Rokas’. I’ve been struggling to find an exercise that’s fun and easy to stick with - rope training might be it!

Luke Jones Thanks! Do you still train jump rope, or exclusively rolling rope when doing rope training?
@LukeJonesMOVE4 жыл бұрын
Thank you and welcome to the channel :) I'd say 80-90% rolling rope, throwing occasional bouts of jump rope in too. Jumping is often just to keep my heart rate elevated if I'm using the rope for an endurance style session, or to help warm the body up for some other training like lifting or running. Hope that helps, happy roping!

Thank you so much! I already have a lot of rope however I couldn't figure out how to tie the "ends", do you know what this knot is called or how to tie the ends to create the handles?

Great video, thanks! A question - how much did it cost for you to make your rope buying via the wholesaler? Also, looking at Octomoves, they have various ropes- would you be able to recommend one for someone new to flow rope, but who is looking to get into it long term? Just thinking if I am going to spend good money on a rope, i don't want to have to upgrade further down the line! Cheers dude, keep up the awesome vids :)
@LukeJonesMOVE4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! From the wholesaler, I was able to make 2 ropes for around £45. They work pretty well, but feel a little too thick and clunky on times, particularly around the handles. I believe the ones at Octomoves are slightly thinner but heavier. I'll drop them a message and get back to you!
@LukeJonesMOVE4 жыл бұрын
Just heard back from Octomoves - they recommend the Phoenix for versatility, or the flowzilla for speed

Can you maybe explain the back swing of the dragon roll?? Either I am missing it in these videos or there is step not being explained.. I feel like every video is " drag on front then roll and there ya go, a dragon roll".... What is the swing on the back? what do yu do with your hands?? How do create that swing?? Some videos you mention a shoulder pinch, is there a video wherethis is explained??

Can you do these moves with a normal jump rope?
@LukeJonesMOVE4 жыл бұрын
The first two (underhand and overhand) can work, but the dragon roll and some of the more advanced skills are a little trickier and a more well suited to a heavier rope like those at Octomoves.
