Furthermore, Rory sold 30 million albums with no Radio play, and at the time he had very little input from record companies because he refused to do 7" singles. He was never commercialised in the pop charts, and record companies could not make the money from his work so they saw him as a non-starter. Additionally, Rory owned his own music songwriting rights which pissed a lot of the industry off. So Rory is believed to have 'Sold 3O million albums!', ( This is an estimate because no one knows for sure how many albums were sold because there was no central place to collate them). In fact, he could have sold 4 times that many. Touring the world and through live performances galvanised his talent so Rory's reputation sold millions of albums. He was a true independent. If Rory had " Sold Out" the record companies would have produced hundreds of millions of albums, but he would have lost his soul as a result. THankfully he never did that... So I love him all the more.

I have just been informed that Rory Gallagher's most beloved guitar and other Rory treasures in going up for sale at Bonhams in Old London town and on show from the 11th to the 17th of October 2024, I will knock of work earlier than normal to attend the sale, I will place my bid for this world treasure and hope to be able my hands on this guitar so I can loan it back to the the good people of Cork, Donegall, Belfast, Galway town, Dublin and all of Ireland, I will be praying heard to me dear Lord to ask if it is possible to give me 6 correct numbers so I can win the Lotter and pay for Rorys Guitar, You see I would never claim total ownership of this Irish treasure, I would buy and loan it out so all music-loving people for all over our world could come to see it for free.

@@ScottishTeeVee This fabulous evening took place on September 19., 1978 in our beautiful KONZERTHAUS WIEN. In those times rock concerts (only seated) with Hendrix, Gallagher, Jethro Tull, ELP, Ten Years After, Led Zeppelin and others were allowed in this place. Nowadays, you will only hear and see classical concerts (e.g. Vienna Philharmonic) and some Jazz concerts there.....

Yes it was recorded in 1978 and there is a full version already on YT, but it is in Black and white. This version is the 1980 rebroadcast and it is full colour. I decided to state the date as 1980 in the on screen info because if you watch until the very end' you will see that the date 1980 does appear on screen and I know that in time someone will come along and ask "If this is 1978, why does it say 1980 at the end?"
