To be fair the no plan B comment was justified. Not a spurs fan myself but they were by far my favourite team to watch last season. That Chelsea game in particular game was something special. Whilst I don't want them to completely change the way they play they do need to learn to adapt and change their style of play depending on the circumstances just like other teams do. There's nothing wrong with playing more defensive or counter attacking of you're playing a more attacking or better equipped team. A few points from boring games could make all the difference. I agree about Chelsea having no plan. But to be fair Rory has criticised them aswell and their run of being sub par is recent.

There is no guarantee Tottenham will win anything this season, but they have plan and are investing youth. This is a sensible approach. Don't start throwing money around like it is confetti in the hope that you can attract star players who might or might not make a difference. Once Postecoglou gets the players who can play his football, Tottenham will be very hard to beat. He is tactically astute. You think he only knows one way of playing and yet within the broad principles about how he wants his team to set up and play, he knows how to mix it up. One thing he will never do is put 11 players behind the ball.

People may not like Jennings opinion because it is so critical but he has a point. The players on preseason are still not buying into Ange Ball. That can only mean they don’t believe in the system or the tactics. We got top five thanks to a poor Newcastle, Chelsea and United. We won’t get that luxury next season and we have more games to play. Transfers aren’t happening and perhaps that’s because other players aren’t convinced by Ange Ball. It’s looking bleak very very bleak right now. Let’s see how the Bayern games go but as it stands we are a top 8 squad with a bang average coach.

Newcastle reverted to their mean, their squad is patchy in places, and they showed huge problems with injuries too, last season. Chelsea are going to struggle to cook, playing possession ball with dribbly wingers again. United still haven't shown they can move away from last year's tactics. They certainly haven't improved their defenders. People can say what they like about the window, but the Spurs squad has brand name players to rotate through the roles, except for a fourth CB, LB, and GK. But the two young lads look ok at keeper. What worries me, is the squad looks a little too urbane and lacks a few brawlers, but maybe a Scarlett, Lankshear or Veliz can surprise in that way.

Spurs had 10 good games under Ange and then reverted to their mean and on some occasions got thumped as badly as they did at the end of Conte’s reign. Chelsea made a bad move in replacing Poch but that squad has far more quality and depth than that of Spurs, perhaps three of our starting 11 make theirs in VDV, Romero and Porro. United it’s hard to say, but I don’t think we are any better than them based on what I have seen in preseason or the end of last season. West Ham have also done some very good business and I thought Palace looked strong come end of the season. What I’ve seen so far Son is really past his best, Kulu is hit and miss and Johnson is too inconsistent. Our front line is poor all over the park right now, Maddison is a shadow of the man he was the first ten games of last season. We need a striker, a RM and a solid CM, I don’t know if we will buy any top quality players to improve the first team as of right now. What’s more concerning is the fact the U21’s look far better coached than the first team. Ange wants to be challenging for honours this year but can’t even go toe to toe with a makeshift Bayern. I’m not one to blindly believe in a system when it doesn’t work on the pitch, whether that be in a friendly or a competitive game. Ange out by February

I'll be honest I cant see Spurs getting any better, mainly because they havent been made a lot of signings. Yes theyve given youth players game time in pre season and Postecoglou will probably give these players a chance in the first time like Mikey Moore,Lucas Bergvall etc. But they need to make some signings in a lot of positions. For starters, they need to buy a new cdm. Bissouma isnt the answer, he was good at the start of last season but since he got sent off at Kenilworth Road he's been dreadful.
