Disturbed gets opening acts with female lead singers so he can do this song while on tour. He has done this with Plush's lead singer Moriah Formica who was on TV's "The Voice" where Mylie Cyrus picked her after she sung Heart's - Crazy On You. Her band also does Heart's - Crazy On You. As well Lzzy Hale of Halestorm has also did this.

David Draiman recently went through a divorce that took its toll on him and I think it really shows in his face. I love Ann, too, so much! But David's expressions are all too real. I just want to give him a hug and comfort. Their voices together ... freakin' epic! Ann ... she's 73 now, so she was probably 71 or 72 when she recorded this. All hail the best female voice (IMO) in rock, keep rockin' for many more years!

Yeah, no disrespect to David Draiman, but it looks like the 'close' divorce aged him ... TRULY, I feel sorry to hear about David's close divorce ... again, to be sure ... In NO way am I mocking David 😢😢 ... js

Sorry, I misread your comments ... David Draiman's divorce (NOT CLOSE DIVORCE)

So, children... This is what real singers are born to do. Ann Wilson is awesome...she knows how to sing solo or with this fabulous male voice. Talent is alive and well on this recording. More. More. More. Please.

I love how Ann took on some of David's vocal traits and the guitar solo sounds like Heart. These 2 legends together are perfection. Ann's voice is immortal.

If Ann Wilson's voice on this song does not give you chills, I question whether you have a pulse!! Her harmonies with David Draiman are simply epic and this song runs straight through the depths of my very soul.

Thanks Rosalie! When DISTURBED dropped this album, I knew this song would be huge! This duet is 40 years in the making. EPIC! This song was actually conceived and written by Don Donegan. His marriage dissolved and writing this song was therapeutic and cathartic. He was having trouble finishing it, so handed it off to David. The results kinda speak for themself. Side note... the video, reminiscent of Sound Of Silence, reminds me of something I read about the recording. David recorded many, many takes of the the vocals to Sound Of Silence, but had never heard the completed, fully cooked recording until the producer brought it to him when finished. He left him alone to hear the final version. If I remember the retelling accurately, David was actually surprised and moved to tears himself. To me, it speaks of his humility and maybe even a little "imposter syndrome". Disbelief of the impact he has as a singer, and being surprised when hearing it out of context. Separated from the recording sessions by time and then hearing it with "unjaded" ears...and being moved by the emotional message of the song. Asking, "Did that come out of me?" I think many artists have a little of that wonderment..."That came from me?" I also think when collaborating with other artists it's just as easy to share the spotlight or give praise for the talents of others (genuinely) than to say to yourself "I did that." It's easy for the viewer to say these are two supremely talented artists, and they are. But, I think as humans, we're all a little insecure (except for narcissists or sociopaths) and need to be appreciated and even praised at times. To feel we have value as a person. That didn't flow the way I thought it would. Kind of 'stream of consciousness' meandering... Sorry about that... rewriting would take weeks. Anyway, love your stuff❤

"It's like living hell for me to live my life without you." My marriage ended when my wife died unexpectedly, it'll be 4 years next month. That line cuts DEEP. As for the song itself, David's vocals are great as usual, but Ann absolutely KILLS it. 🔥🔥🔥

This song came out with their most recent album in the fall of ‘22. The lead guitarist Dan Donegan had gone through a divorce and brought this musical concept to Draiman. As the two worked on it, they realized they needed a female voice counterpart. Ann Wilson and Disturbed had already developed a mutual appreciation relationship and Draiman only wanted Ann. Sadly, Draiman got a divorce last year after this had been released but before the official video. You can see the pain on his face and hear it in his voice! It’s an incredible song! I love your deep and thoughtful reaction.

The tour they just did had an opening act called Plush. Mariah Formica was the lead singer and did the Ann Willson part of this song and killed it every time! Even better if you ask me.

David's music often show anger which he explained why in an interview. He was classically trained to sing as a Cantor to the Jewish Congration in his early years. This trainning is why he is so knowledable about how to save your vocal cords and breath control even with very shrill singing. You probably know how too.

Disturbed's Divisive album was four years in the making, during which two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022. This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage. "That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal." Then Feb 2023 David got divorced.

Just reminded me of a song from Alter Bridge: Fortress from the same-titled album. (Btw: the sleeve design photography is a sherr masterpiec! But you should listen to the songs first, if possible.) Not all relationsships end with hating each other, though. My fianceè ended our engagement in oct. And she's right. We won't make it. After some 10 years on penpal friendship, I flew down under in fall of 2019. It very soon felt like always ment to be. So shortly after we engaged. Who would have guessed? That my mom became bedridden and a pandemic hit? So we haven't met in person ever since. And we both don't have very much money. But we try to keep this wonderful friendship alive (we just mailed again, 2 days ago). Just nofacetime anywhat soon, since she would consider that too painful for her. Gruß aus Tangstedt!

Sounds like my (joke of a) marriage. One major difference ....I KNOW I CAN DEFINITELY live without her. The thing is...I can't figure out how to do it (get her to leave) without suffering her passive aggressive wrath that will be put upon me as she, one by one, tells her version to set the narrative that explains how I drove away such a giving and dedicated soul that only ever wanted the best for me....sad really. The resentments I hold are deep to say the least.
